Introduction

Welcome to the world of Monopoly: Spider-Man Collector's Edition! This special edition of the classic property trading game allows players to swing into action and round up 22 of the most notorious villains from the Spider-Man universe. Battle iconic foes from fifty years of crime fighting, including Venom, Carnage, Doc Ock, and the Green Goblin. To succeed, you will need to employ classic Monopoly strategy, take calculated risks, and possess a little spider-sense to capture them all and dominate the board.

Setup

1. Unfold the Game Board: Place the game board on a flat surface.
2. Separate Cards: Separate the Villain Property Cards, Spider-Sense Cards, and Web Fluid Replacement Cards into their respective piles. Shuffle the Spider-Sense and Web Fluid Replacement Cards and place them face down on their designated spaces on the board.
3. Place Spider-Lairs and Spider-Headquarters: Place the Spider-Lairs (houses) and Spider-Headquarters (hotels) near the board.
4. Choose a Banker: One player is selected as the Banker. The Banker is responsible for all money, Spider-Lairs, Spider-Headquarters, and Villain Property Cards not yet owned. The Banker may also play the game, but must keep their personal funds separate from the bank.
5. Distribute Starting Money: Each player receives $1500 in Monopoly money, distributed as follows: two $500s, two $100s, two $50s, six $20s, five $10s, five $5s, and five $1s.
6. Choose a Token: Each player selects one of the 6 collectible tokens and places it on the 'GO' space.

Operating (Gameplay)

The objective of Monopoly: Spider-Man Collector's Edition is to become the wealthiest player by buying, renting, and trading properties (villains) and forcing opponents into bankruptcy.

Basic Turn Sequence:

1. Roll the Dice: The player rolls both dice and moves their token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated.
2. Action on Space: The action taken depends on the space landed on:
   • Unowned Villain Property: You may buy it from the Bank for the price printed on the board. If you do not wish to buy it, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder.
   • Owned Villain Property: Pay rent to the owner. The amount depends on whether the property is part of a complete color set and if Spider-Lairs or Spider-Headquarters have been built on it.
   • Spider-Sense or Web Fluid Replacement: Draw the top card from the respective pile and follow its instructions.
   • Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the 'In Jail' space. You do not collect $200 for passing GO.
   • Income Tax / Luxury Tax: Pay the specified amount to the Bank.
   • GO: If you pass or land on GO, collect $200 from the Bank.
   • Free Parking: No action is taken, and no money is collected or paid.
3. Doubles: If you roll doubles, take your turn as usual, then roll again. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you immediately go to Jail.
4. Building: Once you own all properties in a color group, you can build Spider-Lairs and Spider-Headquarters on them during your turn, increasing the rent.
5. Trading: Players can trade properties with each other at any time.
6. Bankruptcy: If you owe more money than you can pay, you are bankrupt and out of the game.

The game continues until only one player remains, who is then declared the winner.
