2. Usage Instructions
General Guidelines:
These tablets are intended solely for cleaning coffee oil and grease. They do not perform decalcification. For decalcification procedures, please consult your specific espresso machine's instruction manual and use appropriate descaling products.
Preparation:
Before beginning the cleaning process, ensure your espresso machine is turned off and has cooled down completely.
Operating Procedure:
- Place one PHILIPS/SAECO Coffee Oil Remover tablet into the designated compartment for ground coffee or directly into the brewing unit, following the specific instructions provided in your espresso machine's user manual.
- Initiate a brewing cycle using the "manual coffee grounds" or a similar setting, ensuring no actual coffee is added.
- Allow approximately half a cup of water to pass through the machine. Then, interrupt the cycle by unplugging the machine or turning it off.
- Allow the cleaning solution to remain in the machine for approximately 30 minutes. This duration permits the tablet to fully dissolve and effectively clean the internal components.
- Plug the machine back in and complete the interrupted brewing cycle, allowing any remaining water to pass through.
- Run several full cycles with clean water only to thoroughly rinse the machine and ensure all cleaning solution residue is removed before brewing coffee again.
