Model: ZOB22601XK

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use of your Zanussi ZOB22601XK multifunction oven. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and use, and keep them for future reference.

1.1 Safety Information

  • Ensure the appliance is correctly installed by a qualified person.
  • Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
  • The oven becomes hot during use. Avoid touching heating elements.
  • Always use oven gloves when handling hot dishes or oven accessories.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the oven door glass, as they can scratch the surface, which may result in shattering of the glass.
  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning or maintenance.

2. Setup

2.1 Installation

The Zanussi ZOB22601XK is a built-in oven. Installation must be carried out by a qualified technician in accordance with local regulations and the provided installation instructions (separate document). Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.

Dimensions: 59.4 x 56.8 x 59.4 cm (Width x Depth x Height).

2.2 First Use

  1. Before first use, remove all packaging materials and accessories from the oven cavity.
  2. Clean the interior of the oven with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
  3. Heat the empty oven for approximately 30 minutes at maximum temperature (250°C) to burn off any manufacturing residues. This may produce a slight odor and smoke; ensure the room is well-ventilated.
  4. Allow the oven to cool down, then clean the interior again.

3. Operating the Oven

Figure 1: Front view of the Zanussi ZOB22601XK oven, showing the control panel with three rotary knobs, the oven door, and the interior with a fan and wire rack.

3.1 Control Panel Overview

The control panel features three rotary knobs:

  • Left Knob (Cooking Functions): Used to select the desired cooking function. Symbols indicate various modes such as conventional heating, fan-assisted cooking, grilling, etc.
  • Middle Knob (Timer): Used to set the cooking duration, up to 90 minutes. The 'stop' position indicates manual operation without a timer.
  • Right Knob (Temperature Control): Used to set the oven temperature, ranging from 50°C to 250°C.

3.2 Setting Cooking Functions and Temperature

  1. Turn the Left Knob to select the desired cooking function (e.g., fan-assisted for even cooking, grill for browning).
  2. Turn the Right Knob to set the required temperature for your recipe. The oven indicator light will illuminate when heating and turn off when the set temperature is reached.
  3. Place your food in the oven.

3.3 Using the Timer

The middle knob functions as a minute minder or to set a cooking duration.

  • Minute Minder: Turn the Middle Knob clockwise past the 'stop' position to the desired time, then turn it back counter-clockwise to the desired minute setting. A bell will sound when the time elapses. This does not turn off the oven.
  • Cooking Duration: To set a cooking duration that automatically turns off the oven, turn the Middle Knob clockwise to the desired cooking time. The oven will operate for this duration and then switch off, indicated by a bell sound.

For continuous operation without a timer, ensure the Middle Knob is set to the 'stop' position.

4. Maintenance and Cleaning

4.1 General Cleaning

  • Always ensure the oven is cool before cleaning.
  • Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • For the oven interior, use a specialized oven cleaner or warm soapy water. Follow the cleaner's instructions carefully.
  • Remove oven racks and accessories for easier cleaning. They can be washed in warm soapy water.
  • Clean the oven door glass with a soft cloth and non-abrasive glass cleaner.

4.2 Replacing the Oven Lamp

To replace the oven lamp:

  1. Disconnect the oven from the main power supply.
