1. Introduction
The Antari Z-3000II is a high-performance fog machine designed for professional applications requiring significant fog output and precise control. This unit features a high-efficiency power control system, which contributes to energy savings, and an electronic low fluid detector to prevent damage when the fluid reservoir is low. It offers versatile control options including a Z-20 LCD control module and DMX 512 connectivity.
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, setup, and maintenance of your Antari Z-3000II Fog Machine.
2. Safety Information
Please read all safety instructions carefully before operating the machine. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to the unit.
- Always connect the machine to a grounded power outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the machine's requirements (220V).
- Use only Antari-approved fog fluid. Using other fluids may cause damage to the machine and void the warranty.
- Do not operate the machine if the power cord is damaged.
- Keep the machine away from flammable materials. Maintain adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Do not touch the nozzle during operation or immediately after, as it becomes very hot.
- Ensure the machine is placed on a stable, level surface.
- Do not block the ventilation openings.
- Keep out of reach of children.
3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the fog machine from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging for future storage or shipping.
3.2 Fluid Reservoir Filling
- Ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged.
- Locate the fluid reservoir cap on top of the machine.
- Unscrew the cap and carefully pour Antari-approved fog fluid into the reservoir. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the cap.
The image below shows the Antari Z-3000II with its fluid reservoir visible.

3.3 Placement
Place the fog machine on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation. Avoid placing it directly against walls or in enclosed spaces. The fog output should be directed away from people and sensitive equipment.
3.4 Power and Control Connections
- Connect the power cord to a suitable 220V grounded power outlet.
- For manual control, connect the Z-20 LCD control module to the designated port on the machine.
- For DMX control, connect a DMX cable (3-pin or 5-pin XLR) from your DMX controller to the DMX IN port on the fog machine. If daisy-chaining multiple DMX devices, connect from the DMX OUT port to the next device's DMX IN.
4. Operation
4.1 Powering On and Warm-up
- Ensure all connections are secure and the fluid reservoir is filled.
- Turn on the power switch located on the machine.
- The machine will begin its warm-up cycle. This typically takes several minutes. The Z-20 LCD control module will indicate when the machine is ready for operation.
4.2 Using the Z-20 LCD Control Module
The Z-20 LCD control module allows for precise control over fog output. You can set the volume and timing parameters from 1% to 100% output.
- Volume Control: Adjusts the intensity of the fog output.
- Timer Control: Sets the duration and interval of fog bursts.
- Refer to the Z-20 LCD control module's specific instructions for detailed programming.
4.3 DMX Control
The Antari Z-3000II utilizes 1 DMX channel for control. Consult your DMX controller's manual for setting up DMX addresses and programming scenes.
- The DMX address is typically set via the Z-20 LCD control module or DIP switches on the machine.
- A DMX value of 0 will result in no fog output. Increasing the DMX value will increase the fog output intensity.
4.4 Low Fluid Detection
The machine is equipped with an electronic low fluid detector. When the fluid level becomes critically low, the system will automatically reduce pump power and eventually stop pumping to prevent damage to the heating element. Refill the fluid reservoir promptly when this occurs.
The image below illustrates the fog output from the Antari Z-3000II.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Internal System: For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to run a cleaning solution (Antari Fog Machine Cleaner) through the system periodically, especially if the machine will be stored for an extended period. Follow the instructions provided with the cleaning solution.
5.2 Fluid Type
Always use high-quality, water-based fog fluid specifically designed for fog machines. Antari recommends using their own brand of fog fluid for best results and to ensure the longevity of your machine.
5.3 Storage
When storing the machine, ensure it is clean and dry. If storing for a long period, run cleaning fluid through the system first. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
