Setup
1. Unpacking and Placement:
- Carefully remove the Blu-ray Disc Player from its packaging.
- Place the player on a stable, level surface near your television. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
2. Connecting to Your TV:
For optimal video and audio quality, use an HDMI cable to connect the player to your TV.
- Connect one end of an HDMI cable (not included) to the HDMI Output port on the back of the Blu-ray Disc Player.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an available HDMI Input port on your television.
3. Audio Connections (Optional):
If you are connecting to an external audio system, use the Digital Coaxial Audio Output.
- Connect a digital coaxial cable (not included) from the Digital Coaxial Audio Output on the player to the corresponding input on your audio receiver or soundbar.
4. Network Connection:
The BD-E5300 supports both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity for internet access.
- Wired Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN (Ethernet) port on the player to your router or modem.
- Wireless Connection: If using Wi-Fi, you will configure this during the initial setup wizard on your TV screen.
5. Power Connection:
Connect the power cord to the player and then plug it into a wall outlet.
Operating Instructions
1. Turning On/Off:
Press the Power button on the front panel of the player or on the remote control to turn the unit on or off.
2. Disc Playback:
- Press the Eject button (triangle with line below) on the front panel or remote to open the disc tray.
- Place a Blu-ray disc, DVD, or CD onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the Eject button again to close the tray. The player will automatically begin playback or display a menu.
3. Using Network Features:
Once connected to the internet (via Ethernet or Wi-Fi setup), you can access various online content.
- Navigate to the Smart Hub or Apps section on your player's interface (refer to on-screen instructions).
- Select desired applications like Netflix or Pandora to stream content.
4. USB Playback:
Connect a USB storage device to the USB port on the front of the player to play compatible media files (MPEG-2/4, Xvid, AVCHD, MKV, WMV, JPEG, MP3, LPCM, AAC, WMA, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD Bitstream Output).
Maintenance

Troubleshooting
No Power:
- Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the player and the wall outlet.
- Ensure the wall outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.
No Picture/Sound:
- Verify that the HDMI cable is correctly connected to both the player and the TV.
- Select the correct HDMI input source on your TV.
- If using an external audio system, check its connections and input selection.
Disc Does Not Play:
- Ensure the disc is clean and free of scratches or smudges.
- Verify that the disc type is supported by the player (BD, DVD, CD).
