1. Introduction and Overview

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and care of your Hamilton Beach 6-Speed Electric Hand Mixer. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain for future reference.

2. Important Safety Information

• Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, and clothing, as well as spatulas and other utensils, away from beaters during operation to prevent injury and/or damage to the mixer.

• The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

3. Product Features

4. Components and Attachments

5. Setup

1. Attaching Beaters/Dough Hooks/Whisk: Ensure the mixer is unplugged. Insert the desired attachments into the openings on the bottom of the mixer. Push firmly until they click into place. Note that the traditional beaters are interchangeable, but dough hooks are designed for specific left/right openings (refer to markings on the mixer if present).
2. Power Connection: Plug the mixer into a standard electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

1. Selecting Speed: With the mixer plugged in and attachments inserted, slide the speed control lever to your desired setting (1-6). Start with a lower speed to prevent splattering, especially with dry ingredients.
2. Using QuickBurst: For an extra burst of power at any speed setting, press and hold the QuickBurst button. Release to return to the selected speed.
3. Bowl Rest: When pausing during mixing, utilize the bowl rest feature by placing the mixer's heel on the edge of your mixing bowl. This keeps the beaters over the bowl and off your countertop.
4. Ejecting Attachments: After use, ensure the speed control is set to '0' (OFF) and the mixer is unplugged. Push the speed control lever down firmly to eject the attachments.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

• Before Cleaning: Always unplug the mixer from the electrical outlet.
• Attachments: The traditional beaters, dough hooks, and whisk are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Alternatively, wash them in warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
• Mixer Body: Wipe the mixer body with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the mixer body in water or any other liquid.
• Storage: Once clean and dry, store the attachments and power cord in the snap-on storage case. Attach the mixer unit to the case for compact storage.

8. Troubleshooting

If your hand mixer is not operating as expected, please check the following:

• Mixer does not turn on: Ensure the mixer is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your household fuse or circuit breaker.
• Attachments are difficult to insert/eject: Ensure the speed control is set to '0' (OFF) and the mixer is unplugged before inserting or ejecting attachments. Apply firm, even pressure.
• Motor sounds strained: This may occur with very thick mixtures. Use a lower speed setting or add liquid to the mixture if appropriate for the recipe. Do not overload the mixer.
