  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the water tank, drip tray, and capsule holder with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.

  5. First Rinse Cycle:
    • Place an empty cup under the coffee spout.
    • Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
    • Press the power button (usually indicated by a power symbol) to turn on the machine. The buttons will flash during heating.
    • Once the buttons illuminate steadily, press any coffee preparation button (e.g., Espresso) without inserting a capsule. This will flush the system with hot water. Repeat this process 2-3 times.

  7. Eject Capsule: After brewing, lift the capsule holder lever to eject the used capsule into the internal collection container. Close the lever.
  8. Automatic Shut-off: The machine will automatically switch off after approximately 7 minutes of inactivity to save energy.

4.2 Preparing Frothed Milk / Hot Water

The integrated steam nozzle allows for frothing milk for cappuccinos and latte macchiatos, or dispensing hot water for tea.

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a suitable pitcher with cold milk (preferably cold, fresh milk for best frothing results).
  2. Activate Steam Function: Turn the steam control knob (usually on the side of the machine) to the steam position. The steam indicator light will illuminate. Wait for the light to stop flashing and remain steady, indicating the steam function is ready.
  3. Purge Steam Nozzle: Briefly open the steam valve to release any condensed water. Close it immediately.
  4. Froth Milk: Immerse the steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk. Slowly open the steam valve. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam. Once desired foam consistency is achieved, close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.
  5. Clean Nozzle: Immediately after frothing, wipe the steam nozzle with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly open the steam valve again to clear any internal milk residue.
  6. Hot Water: For hot water, place a cup under the steam nozzle, open the steam valve, and dispense the desired amount.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray and Capsule Container: Empty and clean the drip tray and used capsule container daily. Rinse with warm water and mild detergent.
  • Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
  • Coffee Spout: Wipe the coffee spout with a damp cloth.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

5.2 Descaling

Regular descaling is crucial for maintaining the performance and lifespan of your coffee machine. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. The machine may have a descaling indicator light.

  1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Use a commercially available descaling agent suitable for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions for mixing with water.
  2. Empty Machine: Empty the water tank, drip tray, and capsule container.
  3. Fill with Solution: Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
  4. Start Descaling Program: Refer to your machine's specific descaling procedure. This often involves pressing and holding certain buttons or a dedicated descaling button.
  5. Rinse Cycles: After the descaling cycle, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several rinse cycles (without a capsule) to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
