1. Product Overview

The Menabo Mania 320 Roof Box is a universal, glossy black, aerodynamic car top carrier designed to provide additional storage space for your vehicle. 3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Pre-Installation Checklist

• Verify that your roof bars are securely mounted and rated for the combined weight of the roof box and its contents (up to 50 kg).
• Ensure roof bar profile does not exceed 60 x 35 mm.
• Confirm roof bar spacing is between approximately 70 cm and 80 cm (average).
• Gather all included mounting hardware, keys, and tightening straps.

3.2. Mounting the Roof Box

1. Positioning: Carefully lift the roof box onto your vehicle's roof bars. Center the box both front-to-back and side-to-side to ensure even weight distribution and optimal aerodynamics.
2. Attaching U-Bolts: Open the roof box lid. Locate the pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the box. Insert the U-bolts around your roof bars and up through these holes.
3. Securing: Place the metal plates and tightening knobs onto the U-bolt threads inside the roof box. Hand-tighten all knobs evenly until the box is firmly secured to the roof bars. Do not overtighten.
4. Final Check: Gently shake the roof box to ensure it is stable and does not wobble. Re-tighten if necessary. Close and lock the lid using the central locking system.

4. Operation

4.1. Loading the Roof Box

• Distribute weight evenly inside the box. Place heavier items towards the center and lighter items towards the ends.
• Secure items using the provided tightening straps to prevent shifting during transit.
• Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 50 kg.
• Ensure the lid can close completely and securely without forcing it.

4.2. Opening and Closing

• To open, insert the key into the central lock and turn to unlock. The lid opens from the right side.
• To close, lower the lid firmly until the double snap closure engages. Turn the key to lock the box. Ensure the key is removed after locking.
• Always ensure the box is properly closed and locked before driving.

• Cleaning: Clean the roof box regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the plastic finish.
• Inspection: Periodically check all mounting hardware for tightness, especially after long journeys or rough roads. Re-tighten U-bolts if necessary.
• Storage: When not in use, store the roof box in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is recommended to remove the box from the vehicle when not needed to reduce fuel consumption and wear.
• Lubrication: Occasionally lubricate the lock mechanism with a silicone-based spray to ensure smooth operation.

• Lid not closing/locking:
  • Check for obstructions inside the box preventing the lid from closing fully.
  • Ensure the lid is properly aligned with the base.
  • Verify that the key is fully inserted and turned correctly in the lock.
• Excessive noise during driving:
  • Ensure all mounting hardware is securely tightened.
  • Check that items inside the box are properly secured and not shifting.
  • Verify the roof box is centered on the roof bars.
• Water leakage:
  • Ensure the lid is fully closed and the seals are clean and intact.
  • Check for any cracks or damage to the box material.
