Introduction
The Wildgame Innovations x10CG is a 10-megapixel digital scouting camera designed for capturing images and videos of wildlife in various outdoor conditions. Featuring RealTree APG Camo, it blends seamlessly into natural environments. The camera is equipped with infrared flash technology for clear day and night time captures, and offers connectivity options for enhanced functionality.

This image displays the Wildgame Innovations x10CG game camera, featuring its RealTree APG camouflage casing. The front of the camera clearly shows the array of infrared LEDs for night vision, the main camera lens, and the passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor. A 'PULL' tab for opening the camera is visible on the side.
Setup
1. Battery Installation
The x10CG camera requires eight (8) AA-sized batteries (not included). Ensure the camera is powered off before opening the battery compartment. Insert batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) located inside the compartment. Close the compartment securely to maintain weather resistance.
2. SD Card Installation
A High-Density Secure Digital (HDSC) card up to 16GB is required for storing images and videos (not included). Locate the SD card slot, typically near the battery compartment. Insert the SD card with the label facing the correct direction until it clicks into place. To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.
3. Mounting the Camera
The camera can be mounted to a tree or post using a strap (not included) through the integrated mounting points. Position the camera at a height that provides an optimal view of the desired area, typically 3-6 feet off the ground. Ensure the camera is stable and pointed correctly to avoid capturing unwanted movement from foliage.
4. Powering On
After installing batteries and the SD card, locate the power switch, usually inside the camera's housing. Switch the camera to the 'ON' position. The internal TFT screen will activate, allowing for initial setup and configuration.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation Modes
The x10CG supports both still image capture and video recording. Use the camera's internal menu system, navigated via the buttons and displayed on the 1.9" x 1.4" TFT screen, to select your desired mode. The camera will automatically switch between day (color) and night (infrared) modes based on ambient light conditions.
2. Infrared Flash Technology
For night time captures, the camera utilizes a 36-piece high-intensity infrared flash, providing illumination up to 55 feet. This infrared light is invisible to humans and most animals, ensuring minimal disturbance to wildlife while capturing clear images and videos in low-light conditions.
3. Viewing Captured Media
Captured images and videos can be reviewed directly on the camera's 1.9" x 1.4" TFT screen. Alternatively, remove the SD card and insert it into a compatible card reader on a computer or other device to view and manage your media files. A USB cable is included for direct connection to a computer, allowing file transfer without removing the SD card.
4. WiFi Connectivity (Optional)
The x10CG camera is WiFi capable with the addition of a separate YN1 module (sold separately). This module enables wireless connectivity, potentially allowing for remote viewing or configuration depending on the module's capabilities. Refer to the YN1 module's specific instructions for setup and operation.
5. External Power Option
An external battery port is available for use with an EBX external battery pack (not included). This option can extend the camera's operational time, reducing the need for frequent battery changes. Connect the EBX pack to the designated port on the camera.
Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Regularly check battery levels. Replace all eight AA batteries simultaneously to ensure consistent power and optimal performance. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- SD Card Management: Periodically format the SD card within the camera's menu or on a computer to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens, infrared LEDs, and PIR sensor. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the camera's internal components. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from the camera to prevent leakage. Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Weather Protection: While the camera is designed for outdoor use, ensure all compartments (battery, SD card, USB port) are securely closed to prevent moisture ingress, especially during heavy rain or snow.
Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on:
- - Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity.
- - Check if batteries are fully charged or replace with new ones.
- - Verify the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- No images/videos captured:
- - Confirm an SD card is properly inserted and not full.
- - Check camera settings to ensure it's in the correct capture mode (photo/video).
- - Verify the PIR sensor is not obstructed and the detection sensitivity is appropriate for the environment.
- Poor image/video quality:
- - Clean the camera lens and infrared LEDs.
- - Ensure the camera is stable and not subject to movement during capture.
- - For night images, ensure subjects are within the 55-foot flash range.
- SD card error:
- - Try reinserting the SD card.
- - Format the SD card (note: this will erase all data).
- - Try a different, compatible SD card.
