1. Important Safety Information

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles, gloves, face mask, and hood when operating the abrasive blaster. Abrasive media can cause eye damage and other injuries.
• Safe Operation: Never point the sandblasting gun at your face or exposed portions of your body. Never point the gun at any person or animal.
• Work Area: The blasting medium will accumulate and cover items near the blasting area, potentially damaging the finish or contaminating moving parts. Ensure the work area is clear of unintended targets.
• Chemical Warning: This product, when used for sand blasting and similar applications, produces chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. (California Health & Safety Code § 25249.5 et seq.)
• Do not remove any warning labels from the product.

3. Setup

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all components from the packaging and inspect for any damage.
2. Connect Hose: Attach the 15 ft. material hose securely to the blast gun and the hopper outlet. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent air or media leaks.
3. Connect Air Compressor: Connect your air compressor (1 HP or larger, capable of 3.5 CFM at 50 PSI minimum) to the air inlet on the blast gun. Use an appropriate air hose and fittings (not included).
4. Fill Hopper: Open the top of the hopper and carefully fill it with your chosen abrasive media (e.g., steel grit, glass beads, pecan shells). Do not overfill; leave some space for air circulation. The hopper has a 50 lb. capacity.
5. Prepare Work Area: Ensure the blasting area is well-ventilated and clear of any items that could be damaged by abrasive media. Set up appropriate containment if necessary.
6. Wear PPE: Before proceeding, put on all required personal protective equipment, including safety goggles, gloves, face mask, and hood.

4. Operating Instructions

1. Verify Connections: Double-check all hose and air connections to ensure they are secure.
2. Turn on Air Compressor: Start your air compressor and allow it to build up to the required pressure (minimum 50 PSI).
3. Test Blasting: Point the blast gun at a scrap piece of material or a designated test area. Depress the trigger to begin blasting. Adjust air pressure or media flow as needed to achieve the desired result.
4. Begin Blasting: Hold the blast gun at an appropriate distance and angle from the surface to be cleaned. Move the gun in a steady, even motion to ensure uniform coverage and material removal.
5. Monitor Media Level: Periodically check the abrasive media level in the hopper and refill as necessary.
6. Stop Blasting: Release the trigger to stop the flow of abrasive media. Turn off the air compressor when finished with the task.
7. Depressurize: Safely depressurize the system after use by disconnecting the air supply and bleeding any remaining air from the lines.

5. Maintenance

• Clean After Use: After each use, empty any remaining abrasive media from the hopper and clean the hopper and hoses to prevent clogging and corrosion.
• Inspect Hoses and Connections: Regularly inspect the material hose and all connections for wear, cracks, or damage. Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.
• Check Nozzle: Inspect the blast gun nozzle for wear. A worn nozzle can affect blasting performance. Replace if necessary.
• Store Properly: Store the abrasive blaster kit in a clean, dry place, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
