Please read and understand all instructions before beginning installation. Failure to follow these instructions could result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.
- Ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker before installation or servicing.
- All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes.
- The fan must be mounted to a structurally sound ceiling joist or outlet box capable of supporting the fan's weight (approximately 14.4 pounds).
- Do not operate the fan with damaged blades or housing.
- Maintain a minimum clearance of 7 feet from the floor to the bottom of the fan blades.
- This fan is rated for damp locations, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas.

4. Setup and Installation
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or a knowledgeable individual following all local electrical codes.
- Prepare the Mounting Location: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Securely attach the mounting bracket to a ceiling joist or an approved outlet box. Ensure the box is rated for fan support.
- Assemble the Downrod: Feed the electrical wires from the fan motor through the downrod. Secure the downrod to the fan motor assembly.
- Hang the Fan: Carefully lift the fan assembly and hang it from the mounting bracket using the provided hook or ball-and-socket system.
- Make Electrical Connections: Connect the fan's electrical wires to the house wiring according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate wiring instructions (not included here). Ensure all connections are secure with wire nuts.
- Secure the Canopy: Slide the canopy up to the ceiling and secure it to the mounting bracket, covering the electrical connections.
- Attach Fan Blades: Attach the five brown fan blades to the blade arms, and then secure the blade arms to the motor housing. Ensure all screws are tightened.
- Final Check: Verify all connections are secure and the fan is properly mounted. Restore power at the circuit breaker.
5. Operating Instructions
The Craftmade K10519 ceiling fan is operated via a pull chain switch.
- Fan Speed Control: Pull the chain repeatedly to cycle through fan speeds (High, Medium, Low, Off).
- Reversible Airflow: This fan features a reversible airflow function, typically controlled by a small switch on the fan motor housing.
- For downward airflow (cooling effect), set the switch to allow blades to rotate counter-clockwise. This is ideal for warmer weather.
- For upward airflow (circulating warm air), set the switch to allow blades to rotate clockwise. This is ideal for cooler weather to help distribute heat.
Note: Ensure the fan is completely stopped before changing the direction of rotation.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: Dust the fan blades and motor housing periodically with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish. For damp locations, wipe down with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Blade Balance: If the fan wobbles, check that all blade screws are tight. A balancing kit (often sold separately) can be used to correct persistent wobbling.
- Tighten Fasteners: Periodically check and tighten all screws and fasteners on the fan assembly to ensure secure operation.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not start | No power to the fan; Loose wire connections; Motor malfunction. | Check circuit breaker and wall switch; Verify all wire connections are secure; Contact a qualified electrician or Craftmade support. |
| Fan wobbles | Loose blade screws; Unbalanced blades; Loose mounting bracket. | Tighten all blade screws; Use a blade balancing kit; Ensure mounting bracket is securely fastened. |
| Noisy operation | Loose screws; Motor hum; Blade rubbing. | Check and tighten all screws; Ensure fan is properly lubricated (if applicable, consult manufacturer); Check for obstructions. |
| Airflow is weak | Incorrect fan speed setting; Incorrect blade rotation direction. | Adjust fan speed using the pull chain; Change the direction of rotation using the reversible switch. |
