Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Wixey WR25 Digital Height Gauge requires one CR2032 wafer battery, which is included with the unit. To install or replace the battery:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the digital readout unit.
2. Use a small screwdriver or coin to open the battery compartment.
3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Initial Placement and Stability

The gauge features magnetic feet for stability. For best results, place the gauge on a flat, ferrous surface such as a cast iron router table or table saw top. The magnets will help hold the gauge in place, allowing for hands-free operation when setting cutter depths.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button (red) to turn the unit on or off. The digital display will illuminate when powered on.

2. Unit Selection (Inches/Millimeters/Fractions)

Press the mm/inch/fraction button (green) to cycle through the measurement units: millimeters (mm), decimal inches (in), and fractional inches (in with fractions). Select the desired unit for your measurement.

3. Absolute (ABS) and Incremental (INC) Modes

The gauge supports two measurement modes:

• ABS (Absolute) Mode: This mode measures from a preset zero point, typically the surface the gauge is resting on. This is useful for measuring the total height from a reference surface.
• INC (Incremental) Mode: This mode allows you to set a temporary zero point at any position. Press the INC/ABS button (blue) to zero the display at the current position. This is useful for measuring the difference between two points or setting a specific depth relative to a previous cut.

Press the INC/ABS button to toggle between these two modes.

4. Measuring Height

To measure height, extend the measuring rule until it contacts the surface or object you wish to measure. The digital display will show the precise measurement. The steel rule also features dual metric and imperial scales for visual reference.

5. Measuring Router Bit Height

Place the gauge on your router table. Extend the measuring rule until it touches the highest point of the router bit. Use the digital readout to set the precise cutting depth. The magnetic feet provide stability during this process.

6. Measuring Depth (with Stylus)

The gauge includes a stylus for measuring depths of holes or dados. Insert the stylus into the designated slot on the side of the gauge. Place the gauge over the opening and extend the stylus until it reaches the bottom. The display will show the depth measurement.

7. Locking Rule

A locking screw is provided to secure the measuring rule at a specific position. This feature is useful for maintaining a set measurement or for ensuring repeatability when making multiple identical adjustments.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To maintain accuracy and prolong the life of your digital height gauge, keep it clean. Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or plastic components.

2. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or erratic, it is time to replace the CR2032 battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

3. Storage

Store the height gauge in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage to the measuring rule or digital display.

Troubleshooting

• Display Not Working:

  Ensure the unit is powered on. Check the battery. If the display is dim or blank, replace the CR2032 battery. Ensure the battery is inserted with the correct polarity (+ side up).

• Inaccurate Readings:

  Ensure the measuring surfaces are clean and free of dust or debris. Calibrate the gauge by pressing the INC/ABS button to zero the display on a known flat surface. Verify that the rule slides smoothly without obstruction. If issues persist, contact customer support.

• Rule Not Sliding Smoothly:
