Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your Cadet Pro toilet. Refer to the official installation video for visual guidance.

1. Prepare the Installation Area

  • Ensure the existing water supply valve is turned off.
  • Clear the area around the toilet flange.

2. Install Closet Bolts

  • Insert the closet bolts into the floor flange channel.
  • Slide them into place, parallel to the wall.

3. Install Wax Ring

  • Invert the toilet bowl onto a cushioned surface to prevent damage.
  • Evenly install the wax ring around the waste flange on the toilet bowl, ensuring the tapered end of the ring is positioned correctly.

4. Position the Toilet Bowl

  • Carefully position the toilet bowl over the floor flange, aligning the closet bolts with the mounting holes.
  • Apply even weight to the toilet to compress the wax ring and firmly seat the bowl on the floor.
  • Loosely install the retainer washers and nuts onto the closet bolts.
  • Alternately tighten the nuts until the toilet is firmly seated. Do not overtighten.
  • If necessary, cut the bolt heights to size before installing the decorative caps.
  • Hand-tighten the bolt caps onto the washers.

5. Install the Tank

  • Attach the tank to the bowl, ensuring the tank-to-bowl gasket and tube gasket are properly seated.
  • Tighten the tank bolts alternately until the tank contacts the front and back of the bowl, achieving china-to-china contact.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and performance of your toilet.

  • Cleaning the EverClean® Surface: The EverClean® antimicrobial surface is built into the finish to inhibit the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew on the surface. Clean regularly with non-abrasive toilet bowl cleaners. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that could damage the finish.
  • Checking for Leaks: Periodically inspect the tank, bowl, and water supply connections for any signs of leaks. Tighten connections as needed.
  • Flapper/Fill Valve Inspection: Check the flapper and fill valve for proper operation and wear. Replace components if they are not functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your toilet, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Toilet not flushing properly: Check the water level in the tank. Ensure the flapper chain is not too long or too short. Inspect the flush valve for obstructions.
  • Continuous running water: Check the flapper for a proper seal. Adjust the fill valve to ensure it shuts off completely when the tank is full.
  • Leaks: Inspect all connections for tightness. Check the wax ring for proper seal.
