Important Safety Instructions
To reduce the risk of injury, observe the following safety precautions:
- Read all instructions before using this appliance.
- DANGER: To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is used in the use of aquarium equipment. For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.
- If the appliance falls into water, DO NOT reach for it. First, unplug it and then retrieve it. If electrical components get wet, unplug the appliance immediately.
- If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug it from the power source.
- Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.
- Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
- To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug or receptacle getting wet, position the aquarium stand and tank to one side of a wall-mounted receptacle to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. A 'drip loop' should be arranged by the user for each cord connecting an aquarium appliance to a receptacle. The 'drip loop' is the part of the cord below the level of the receptacle, or the connector if an extension cord is used, to prevent water from traveling along the cord and coming into contact with the receptacle. If the plug or receptacle does get wet, DO NOT unplug the cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for the presence of water in the receptacle.

- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- To avoid injury, do not contact moving parts or hot parts such as heaters, reflectors, lamp bulbs, and the like.
- Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.
- Do not use an appliance for other than its intended use. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
- Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing.
- Make sure an appliance is securely installed before operating it.
- Read and observe all important notices on the appliance.
- If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating should be used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.
- This appliance is for indoor use only.

- AP-100 High Volume Air Pump
- Air Manifold
- Instruction Sheet (this manual)
Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your AP-100 air pump:
- Placement: Position the air pump in a dry, well-ventilated area above the water level of your aquarium or pond. This prevents water from siphoning back into the pump in case of a power outage. If the pump must be placed below water level, install a check valve on the air line to prevent back-siphoning.
- Air Line Connection: Connect appropriate air tubing (3/4" I.D. tubing can be used to extend distance between air pump and manifold) to the pump's air outlet.
- Manifold Connection: Attach the air manifold to the air tubing. The manifold allows for distribution of air to multiple air stones or accessories.
- Accessory Connection: Connect individual air lines from the manifold outlets to your air stones, sponge filters, or other air-driven aquarium accessories.
- Electrical Connection: Ensure the pump's power cord forms a 'drip loop' as described in the safety instructions. Plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet.

Operation
Once properly installed and connected, the AP-100 air pump operates continuously when plugged into a power source. There are no external controls for adjusting air output directly on the pump unit itself. Air volume is determined by the pump's design. Ensure all air lines are free from kinks or obstructions to maintain optimal airflow to your aquarium accessories.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your air pump. Always unplug the pump before performing any maintenance.
Air Filter Maintenance
The air filter should be checked periodically and cleaned or replaced as needed. A clogged filter can reduce airflow and strain the pump motor.
- Unplug the air pump from the power outlet.
- Locate the air filter cover, typically on the underside or side of the pump.
- Remove the cover and carefully extract the filter media.
- Clean the filter media by rinsing it with clean water or replace it with a new filter.
- Reinsert the clean or new filter media and secure the air filter cover.
Diaphragm and Flapper Valve Replacement
Over time, the diaphragm and flapper valves may wear out, leading to reduced performance. Replacement kits are available from Danner Manufacturing. Refer to the diagram below for component identification.

- Unplug the air pump.
- Carefully open the pump casing to access the internal components.
- Identify the diaphragm assembly and flapper valves.
- Remove the old diaphragm and flapper valves, noting their orientation.
- Install the new diaphragm and flapper valves from the repair kit, ensuring correct placement.
- Reassemble the pump casing securely.
Troubleshooting
If your AP-100 air pump is not functioning as expected, consult the table below for common issues and solutions.
