Setup

1. Unpacking

  • Remove any protective films or stickers from the display or weighing surface.

2. Battery Installation

  • Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  • Open the battery compartment cover.
  • Insert the required batteries (type and quantity usually indicated inside the compartment or in quick start guide, typically AAA or CR2032) ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  • Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Placement

  • Place the scale on a firm, flat, and stable surface. Uneven surfaces can affect accuracy.
  • Avoid placing the scale near heat sources, strong electromagnetic fields, or in direct sunlight.

Operating Instructions

1. Turning On/Off

  • To turn on the scale, press the ON/OFF button. The display will show '0' or '0.0' when ready for use.
  • The scale will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life. To manually turn off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for a few seconds.

2. Switching Units (Metric/Imperial)

  • With the scale turned on, press the UNIT button (or similar button, often labeled 'g/oz' or 'kg/lb') to toggle between metric (grams, kilograms) and imperial (pounds, ounces) units.
  • The selected unit will be displayed on the LCD screen.

3. Weighing Ingredients

  • Place the item to be weighed directly onto the scale's weighing surface.
  • Alternatively, place an empty bowl or container on the scale first.
  • The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen.

4. Add & Weigh Function (Tare)

The 'Add & Weigh' function allows you to measure multiple ingredients in the same bowl without emptying it, saving on washing up. This is also known as the Tare function.

  1. Place your first ingredient (or an empty bowl) on the scale. Note its weight.
  2. Press the ZERO/TARE button (often labeled 'Z/T' or 'Tare'). The display will reset to '0'.
  3. Add the next ingredient to the bowl. The display will show the weight of only the newly added ingredient.
  4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for additional ingredients.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the scale clean with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Ensure the scale is completely dry before storing or next use.

2. Storage

  • Store the scale in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid placing heavy objects on the scale when not in use, as this can damage the sensors.
