1. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions before using the appliance.
• Do not operate the oven when empty.
• Do not attempt to tamper with, or make adjustments or repairs to the door, control panel, safety interlock switches, or any other part of the oven.
• Ensure proper ventilation around the microwave. Do not block any ventilation openings.

Main Components:

• Door: Equipped with a safety interlock system.
• Control Panel: Features two rotary dials for setting cooking time/defrost and power level.
• Turntable: Removable glass tray for even cooking.
• Oven Cavity: The interior cooking space.
• Door Release Handle: To open the microwave door.

3. Setup

1. Unpacking: Remove all packaging materials and accessories. Inspect the oven for any damage such as dents or a broken door. Do not install if damaged.
2. Placement: Place the microwave oven on a flat, stable surface that can support its weight and the heaviest food item likely to be cooked in the oven. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space above the oven, 10 cm (4 inches) at the rear, and 5 cm (2 inches) on both sides for proper ventilation. Do not block any air vents.
3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the rating label on the back of the oven.
4. Turntable Installation: Place the turntable ring inside the oven cavity, then place the glass turntable plate on top of the ring, ensuring it sits securely on the center hub.

4. Operating Instructions

Control Panel Overview:

• Upper Dial (Time/Defrost): Used to set the cooking time (up to 30 minutes) or select defrost by weight.
• Lower Dial (Power Level): Used to select the desired cooking power level (Low, M.Low, Med, M.High, High).

Basic Microwave Cooking:

1. Place the food in a microwave-safe container on the glass turntable. Close the door securely.
2. Turn the Lower Dial (Power Level) to select the desired power setting. For most cooking, 'High' is suitable.
3. Turn the Upper Dial (Time/Defrost) to set the desired cooking time. The oven will start automatically once the dial is turned.
4. When the set time expires, the oven will automatically stop and a bell will sound.
5. Carefully remove the food. Always use oven mitts as the container and food may be hot.

Defrosting:

The Harper HMO200 offers defrosting by time or by weight.

• Defrost by Time: Place the frozen food in the oven. Turn the Lower Dial (Power Level) to 'Low' or 'M.Low'. Turn the Upper Dial (Time/Defrost) to the desired defrosting time.
• Defrost by Weight: Place the frozen food in the oven. Turn the Upper Dial (Time/Defrost) to the appropriate weight setting indicated on the dial (e.g., 0.2kg, 0.5kg, 1.0kg). The oven will automatically calculate the defrosting time.

During defrosting, it is recommended to turn the food over periodically for more even results.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning of your microwave oven will ensure its longevity and efficient operation.

• Before Cleaning: Always unplug the microwave oven from the power outlet.
• Oven Interior: Wipe the inside of the oven with a damp cloth after each use. For stubborn stains, a mild detergent can be used. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Turntable and Ring: The glass turntable and turntable ring can be washed in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before placing them back in the oven.
• Oven Exterior: Clean the exterior surface with a damp cloth. Do not allow water to enter the ventilation openings.
• Door and Door Seals: Wipe the door, door seals, and adjacent parts frequently with a damp cloth to remove any spills or splatters.
