JOOLA Rossi Fire Flared Table Tennis Blade

Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

The JOOLA Rossi Fire Flared Table Tennis Blade is a high-performance 7-ply blade designed for precise and dynamic offensive play. It offers high torsional rigidity, providing a great feeling and sufficient speed for an aggressive game. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your blade to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Key Features:

  • Precise and dynamic blade for pressure offensive play.
  • 7-ply construction with Limba and Abachi plies.
  • High torsional rigidity for enhanced power.
  • Approximate weight: 85 grams.

2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the blade from its packaging. Inspect the blade for any visible damage, such as cracks, splinters, or warping. Ensure the handle is securely attached and free from defects. If any damage is found, contact your retailer immediately.

2.2 Attaching Rubbers

The JOOLA Rossi Fire blade is designed to be paired with table tennis rubbers (not included). Follow these steps to attach your chosen rubbers:

  1. Prepare the Blade: Ensure the blade surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or debris.
  2. Apply Glue to Blade: Apply a thin, even layer of water-based table tennis glue to one side of the blade surface.
  3. Apply Glue to Rubber: Apply a thin, even layer of the same glue to the sponge side of your table tennis rubber.
  4. Allow to Dry (Tacky): Allow both glue layers to dry until they become tacky to the touch (refer to your glue's instructions for specific drying times).
  5. Attach Rubber: Carefully align the rubber with the blade, starting from the handle end. Slowly and smoothly press the rubber onto the blade, rolling out any air bubbles using a roller or a soft cloth.
  6. Trim Excess: Once the rubber is securely attached, use sharp scissors or a specialized table tennis rubber cutter to trim the excess rubber around the edges of the blade.
  7. Repeat: Repeat the process for the other side of the blade if you are using two rubbers.

3. Operating

3.1 Holding the Blade

The flared handle of the JOOLA Rossi Fire blade is designed for a comfortable and secure grip. Hold the blade firmly but not rigidly, allowing for flexible wrist movement. Experiment with different grip positions to find what feels most natural and effective for your playing style.

3.2 Playing Characteristics

This blade is engineered for offensive players who prioritize precision and dynamic power. Its 7-ply construction provides a solid feel and excellent feedback. The high torsional rigidity contributes to consistent power transfer, making it suitable for fast drives, powerful loops, and controlled blocks. Practice various strokes to fully understand and utilize the blade's characteristics in your game.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Blade

To maintain the blade's performance and appearance, regular cleaning is recommended:

  • After each use, gently wipe the blade surface (wood part) with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, sweat, and any residue.
  • For the attached rubbers, use a specialized table tennis rubber cleaner and a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on either the blade or the rubbers.

4.2 Storing the Blade

Proper storage is crucial for the longevity of your blade:

  • Store the blade in a protective case or cover when not in use to prevent physical damage from impacts or scratches.
  • Keep the blade away from extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) and high humidity, as these can cause the wood to warp or crack.
  • Avoid leaving the blade in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
