Safety Precautions

Setup
1. Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Place the machine on a stable, level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for comfortable operation and ventilation.

2. Power Connection
Connect the power cord to the machine's power input and then to a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the machine's power switch is in the OFF position before connecting.

3. Threading the Machine
Proper threading is crucial for optimal stitch quality. Follow these general steps:
- Upper Thread: Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Guide the thread through the thread guides, tension discs, and take-up lever. Use the built-in needle threader for convenience.
- Bobbin Winding: Place an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle. Guide the thread from the spool through the bobbin winding tension disc and around the bobbin. Start the machine to wind the bobbin evenly.
- Bobbin Insertion: Open the bobbin cover plate. Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction. Pull the thread through the tension spring and out through the needle plate opening.

Operating Instructions
1. Control Panel Overview
The Janome Memory Craft 11000 features an intuitive control panel and a large LCD touch screen for easy navigation and stitch selection.

2. Stitch Selection
Turn on the machine. The LCD touch screen will display various stitch categories. Touch the desired category (e.g., Utility, Decorative, Embroidery) to view available stitches. Select a stitch by touching its icon on the screen.

3. Basic Sewing
- Place your fabric under the presser foot.
- Lower the presser foot lever.
- Press the Start/Stop button or use the foot controller to begin sewing.
- Guide the fabric gently. Do not pull or push the fabric forcefully.
- Use the reverse stitch button for back-tacking at the beginning and end of seams.
4. Embroidery Functions
To use the embroidery functions, attach the embroidery unit and hoop according to the instructions in the full manual. Select an embroidery design from the machine's built-in library or transfer one via USB. The machine will guide you through color changes and other steps.
