1. Overview

The Tripp Lite TLP76MSG is a 7-outlet surge protector designed to safeguard electronic equipment from power surges and line noise. 2. Important Safety Instructions

• Do not use in wet environments.

4. Setup

1. Placement: Position the surge protector in a dry, indoor location, ensuring the 6-foot power cord can reach a grounded wall outlet without strain.
2. Wall Mounting (Optional): If desired, use the keyhole slots on the back of the unit to mount it securely to a wall or desk. Ensure appropriate screws are used and the mounting surface is stable.

3. Connect to Power: Plug the surge protector's NEMA 5-15P input plug into a standard 3-prong grounded AC wall outlet.

4. Verify Status: Check the "Protected" and "Grounded" diagnostic LEDs. Both should be illuminated green, indicating proper operation and protection.
5. Connect Devices: Plug your electronic devices into the outlets. For devices requiring continuous power (e.g., router, modem), use the "Always On" outlet. For devices you wish to power on/off individually, use the six switched outlets.

5. Operating Instructions

• Main Power Switch: The large red switch at one end controls power to all six individually switched outlets. The "Always On" outlet remains powered regardless of this switch's position.
• Individual Outlet Switches: Each of the six outlets has a small red illuminated switch. Flip the switch to the "ON" position (illuminated red) to provide power to the connected device. Flip it to the "OFF" position (unlit) to cut power and prevent energy waste.
• "Always On" Outlet: This outlet provides constant power and does not have an individual switch. It is ideal for devices that should not be turned off, such as modems, routers, or security systems.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Disconnect the surge protector from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
• Diagnostic LED Check: Periodically check the "Protected" and "Grounded" LEDs. If the "Protected" LED is off, the surge protection components have been compromised, and the unit should be replaced to ensure continued protection. If the "Grounded" LED is off, there may be a wiring problem in your wall outlet, and you should consult a qualified electrician.
• Overload Protection: The unit features an integrated circuit breaker. If an overload occurs, the circuit breaker will trip, cutting power to the outlets. To reset, unplug some devices, then press the circuit breaker button.

7. Troubleshooting

• No Power to Devices:
  • Ensure the main power switch is "ON" (illuminated red).
  • For individually switched outlets, ensure the specific outlet switch is "ON" (illuminated red).
  • Check if the circuit breaker has tripped. If so, reduce the load and press the reset button.
  • Verify the wall outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.
• "Protected" LED is Off: This indicates that the surge protection circuitry has been consumed by a significant surge or multiple smaller surges. The unit will still function as a power strip, but it no longer provides surge protection. Replace the unit immediately to ensure continued protection for your electronics.
• "Grounded" LED is Off: This suggests a grounding issue with your wall outlet. The surge protector requires a properly grounded outlet for effective protection. Consult a qualified electrician to inspect and correct the wiring.
