Product Overview

The BIOS Weather 312BC is a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer and indoor hygrometer designed to provide accurate environmental readings for your home. It features a main display unit for indoor temperature, humidity, and moon phase, along with a remote outdoor sensor for external temperature monitoring. The system supports up to three outdoor sensors (additional sensors sold separately) for comprehensive coverage.

Before beginning setup, ensure all components are present:

Note: Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately. The main unit requires 2xAA batteries, and the outdoor sensor requires 2xAAA batteries.

Setup Guide

1. Battery Installation

Main Display Unit:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the main display unit.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert 2 new AA alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery cover securely.

Wireless Outdoor Sensor:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert 2 new AAA alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely.

2. Sensor Synchronization

After installing batteries in both units, the main display unit should automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. This may take a few minutes. Ensure both units are within range (up to 100 ft.) and not obstructed by large metal objects or thick walls.

If the outdoor temperature does not appear after a few minutes, press and hold the "CH" button on the main unit to initiate a manual search for the sensor.

3. Placement

Main Display Unit: Place the main unit indoors on a flat surface, such as a tabletop or desk. Avoid direct sunlight or proximity to heat sources (e.g., radiators, appliances) as this can affect indoor temperature and humidity readings.

Wireless Outdoor Sensor: Position the outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location outdoors, protected from direct rain and sunlight. Direct sunlight will cause inaccurate temperature readings. A north-facing wall or under an eave is often ideal. The sensor can be mounted using a screw through the hanging hole on its back.

Operating Instructions

Display Overview

The main display unit shows the following information:

• Indoor Temperature: Top left section.
• Indoor Humidity: Top middle section.
• Moon Phase: Top right section.
• Outdoor Temperature: Bottom left section.
• Time and Date: Bottom right section.

Button Functions

Setting Time and Date

1. Press and hold the Set button until the time display flashes.
2. Use the ▲ or ▼ buttons to adjust the hour.
3. Press Set to confirm and move to the minutes.
4. Repeat the process for minutes, year, month, and day.
5. Press and hold Set to exit setting mode.

Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

Briefly press the ▲ button to toggle between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) display for both indoor and outdoor temperatures.

Viewing and Clearing Min/Max Records

Press the Mem button repeatedly to cycle through the current, maximum (MAX), and minimum (MIN) recorded indoor temperature, indoor humidity, and outdoor temperature values.

To clear the recorded Min/Max values, press and hold the Mem button while viewing the Min/Max records. The display will reset to current values.

Maintenance

• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit and outdoor sensor annually, or when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace with new alkaline batteries of the specified type (AA for main unit, AAA for sensor).
• Cleaning: Wipe the units with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
• Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.
• Outdoor Sensor Care: Periodically check the outdoor sensor for debris or insect nests that might obstruct its ventilation holes. Ensure it remains in a shaded, protected location.

This BIOS Weather 312BC Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer and Indoor Hygrometer comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accident, unauthorized modification, or improper battery installation.
