Wall Mounting:

  1. Select a suitable location on a sturdy wall, ensuring adequate clearance from combustible materials (at least 3 feet from the front, sides, and rear).
  2. Use the provided mounting bracket and hardware to securely attach the heater to the wall. Follow spacing limitations as specified in the detailed manual.
  3. Ensure the heater's black housing box is mounted vertically for the internal tip-over safety switch to function correctly and allow the heater to operate.

Operating Instructions

The Heat Storm HS-1500-OTR Infrared Heater is designed for straightforward operation, providing instant heat when needed.

Powering On/Off:

  • This heater does not feature an integrated on/off switch or thermostat. To activate the heater, simply plug the power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
  • To turn off the heater, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  • For convenience, users may consider using a compatible smart outlet or remote-controlled switch (not included) to manage power without direct access to the plug.

Heat Output:

The heater provides a consistent 1500-watt output, delivering instant infrared heat. There are no adjustable heat settings on the unit itself; it operates at full power when plugged in.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your Heat Storm HS-1500-OTR Infrared Heater. Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before performing any maintenance.

Cleaning:

  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure no water enters the interior of the heater.
  • Periodically inspect the heating element for any dust or debris accumulation. Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently clean if necessary.

Storage:

When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. If possible, store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Heat Storm HS-1500-OTR heater, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Heater does not turn on:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional 120V outlet.
    • Verify that the internal tip-over safety switch is engaged by ensuring the black housing box is mounted vertically.
    • Check the circuit breaker for the outlet to ensure it has not tripped.
  • Insufficient heat output:
    • Infrared heaters heat objects directly, not the air. Ensure you are within the effective heating range (approximately 2-3 feet for direct warmth).
    • Consider the size of the area. The heater is rated for approximately 100 square feet. Larger or open outdoor spaces may require multiple units or additional heat sources.
  • Unusual odors or sounds:
    • A slight odor may be present during initial use as manufacturing residues burn off. This is normal and should dissipate quickly.
    • If unusual sounds or strong, persistent odors occur, immediately unplug the heater and contact customer support.
