Setup

1. Paddle Assembly

The included paddle is adjustable to suit various user heights. To adjust, locate the locking mechanism on the paddle shaft. Depress the button or open the clamp, extend or retract the shaft to the desired length, and then secure the mechanism. Ensure the paddle is firmly locked before use.

2. Fin Deployment

The paddleboard features two retractable fins located on the underside at the rear. To deploy the fins for improved tracking, gently push them downwards until they click into place. To retract them for storage or shallow water, push them upwards until they are flush with the board's surface.

3. Pre-Launch Inspection

Before entering the water, ensure all drain plugs (if applicable) are securely closed to prevent water from entering the board's interior. Verify that the paddle is correctly assembled and the fins are deployed as desired for your paddling conditions.

Operating Instructions

1. Entering the Water

Carefully carry the paddleboard to the water's edge using the integrated carry handles. Once in shallow water, you can either kneel on the EVA deck pad or stand up. For beginners, kneeling provides greater stability. Place the paddle across the board or hold it in front of you for balance.

2. Paddling Technique

When standing, position your feet shoulder-width apart over the center of the board, facing forward. Hold the paddle with one hand on the top grip and the other on the shaft. Dip the blade fully into the water and pull it towards your feet, engaging your core. Alternate sides for straight tracking. The board's stable hull design and fins assist in maintaining direction.

3. Stability and Maneuvering

The Freestyle paddleboard offers excellent stability. For increased stability in choppy conditions, lower your center of gravity by bending your knees or kneeling. To turn, paddle on one side only, or perform a sweep stroke by paddling in a wide arc on one side.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

After each use, rinse the paddleboard and paddle with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and debris. Use a mild soap and soft brush if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the HDPE material or EVA deck pad.

2. Drying and Storage

Thoroughly dry the paddleboard before storing it. Open any drain plugs to allow accumulated water to escape. Store the board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. The UV-protected material helps prevent sun damage, but prolonged exposure can still affect its lifespan.

3. Fin Care

Regularly inspect the retractable fins for any damage or obstructions. Ensure they move freely and lock securely. Clean any sand or debris from the fin boxes to maintain smooth operation.

Troubleshooting

1. Water Inside the Board

If water accumulates inside the paddleboard, it indicates that the drain plugs were not properly sealed or have become loose. Remove the board from the water, open all drain plugs, and tilt the board to allow the water to drain completely. Re-secure the plugs tightly before next use.

2. Difficulty Tracking Straight

Ensure both retractable fins are fully deployed and locked into position. If the fins are not extended, the board will be more difficult to steer straight. Also, review your paddling technique to ensure even strokes on both sides.

3. Paddle Adjustment Issues

If the paddle is difficult to adjust or does not lock securely, check the adjustment mechanism for sand or debris. Clean it thoroughly and ensure the locking components are not damaged. Do not force the adjustment.
