Setup & Installation
Installation of the Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Filter is designed to be straightforward and requires no special tools. Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Prepare Your Faucet: Begin by removing the existing aerator from your sink faucet. Save any gaskets for potential use with the new filter's adapters.
- Determine Faucet Thread Type:
- If your faucet has external threads, no additional adapters are needed.
- If your faucet has internal threads, select the appropriate adapter from the included set by trial and error. Screw the chosen adapter securely into your faucet.
- Attach the Filter: Attach the faucet filter to the faucet or selected adapter. Turn the swivel collar to tighten it onto the threads. Do not use pliers or overtighten, as this may damage the unit.
- Flush the Filter: Slowly turn on the cold water, about halfway open. To receive filtered water, pull out the valve system tab. It is crucial to flush each new filter cartridge for 10 minutes to remove any carbon fines. These fines are not harmful but should be flushed out before consuming the filtered water.
- Initial Use: After the initial 10-minute flush, allow the system to flush for 3 seconds before each subsequent use. Water may then be run through the cartridge at full pressure.
Note: This filtration system will not fit on kitchen pull-out or pull-down faucet styles. It is recommended that you verify the thread size with the faucet manufacturer to ensure compatibility.

Operating Instructions
The Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Filter offers a simple diverter tab to switch between filtered and unfiltered water.
- Filtered Water: To dispense filtered water, turn on your cold water faucet and pull out the diverter tab on the filter unit. Water will flow through the filter.
- Unfiltered Water: To dispense unfiltered tap water, turn on your cold water faucet and ensure the diverter tab is pushed in. Water will bypass the filter.
- Automatic Return: The valve stem will automatically return to the unfiltered position when the water is turned off, helping to prolong filter life.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and water quality from your Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Filter.
- Filter Life: The filter cartridge has a life of up to 2 months or 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Actual life may vary depending on usage and water conditions.
- Replacement: Replace the filter cartridge when the water flow significantly reduces or after the recommended 2-month/200-gallon period. Replacement cartridges are available for purchase.
- Flushing After Replacement: Always flush a new filter cartridge for 10 minutes after installation to remove carbon fines.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Filter, consider the following:
- Reduced Water Flow: A significant reduction in water flow from the filtered output often indicates that the filter cartridge is nearing the end of its life and needs replacement.
- Leaking: Ensure all connections are securely tightened by hand. Do not overtighten with tools. Check that all gaskets and O-rings are properly seated during installation. If leaking persists after replacing the filter, inspect the unit for any damage.
- Unfiltered Water Taste/Odor: If filtered water still has an undesirable taste or odor, ensure the filter was properly flushed for 10 minutes after installation. If the issue persists, the filter may need replacement sooner than expected due to heavy use or poor water quality.
