Setup and Initial Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the dispenser from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Cleaning: Before first use, clean the interior of the dispenser. Open the top lid by pressing the lid release button. Remove the lid and wipe the stainless steel inner pot with a soft, damp cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
- Placement: Place the dispenser on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit, especially for steam release.
- Filling with Water:
- Open the top lid.
- Fill the inner pot with fresh, clean drinking water up to the "MAX" line indicated on the water level indicator. Do not overfill.
- Close the top lid securely until it clicks into place.
- Power Connection: Connect the detachable power cord to the dispenser and then plug it into a grounded electrical outlet. The unit will typically begin heating automatically.
- Initial Boil: For the first use, it is recommended to boil a full pot of water and then discard it to clean the interior and remove any manufacturing residues. Press the "Reboil" button if the unit does not start boiling automatically.
Operating Instructions
1. Boiling Water:
- After filling the water and plugging in, the dispenser will automatically start heating the water to boiling point (212°F / 100°C).
- The "Boil" indicator light will illuminate during the boiling process.
- Once boiling is complete, the unit will automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode.
2. Keep Warm Function:
- The dispenser is designed to maintain the water at boiling temperature.
- If the water temperature drops, the auto reboil function will activate to bring it back to boiling point.
- You can also manually reboil the water by pressing the "Reboil" button.
3. Dispensing Water:
The SPT dispenser offers two methods for dispensing hot water:
- One-Touch Auto Dispense:
- Ensure the safety lock for the manual pump is disengaged (if applicable).
- Place your cup or container under the dispensing spout.
- Press the "Auto Dispense" button. Water will flow out automatically. Release the button to stop dispensing.
- Manual Air Pump Dispense:
- This method is useful during power outages or for precise control.
- Ensure the safety lock for the manual pump is disengaged.
- Place your cup or container under the dispensing spout.
- Press down on the manual air pump button repeatedly until the desired amount of water is dispensed.
4. Safety Lock:
- The manual pump features a safety lock to prevent accidental dispensing.
- To unlock, slide the "Unlock" switch or button to the unlocked position.
- To lock, slide the "Unlock" switch or button to the locked position. It is recommended to keep the pump locked when not in use, especially in households with children.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your hot water dispenser.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Interior Cleaning (Inner Pot):
- Unplug the dispenser and allow it to cool completely.
- Open the top lid and remove it.
- Wipe the stainless steel inner pot with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Ensure all soap residue is removed before reassembling.
- Lid Cleaning: The top lid is removable for easy cleaning. Wash it with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Ensure it is dry before reattaching.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up in the inner pot, especially in areas with hard water.
- Fill the pot with a solution of water and white vinegar (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) or a commercial descaling agent according to product instructions.
- Boil the solution and let it sit for several hours or overnight.
- Drain the solution and rinse the inner pot several times with fresh water to remove all traces of vinegar/descaler.
- Perform a full boil with fresh water and discard it before using the dispenser for beverages.
