Setup

1. Battery Charging:

1. Ensure the battery charger is connected to a standard electrical outlet.
2. Slide the battery pack (LBXR20) into the charger (LCS20) until it clicks into place.
3. Allow the battery to charge fully before first use. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.

2. Battery Installation:

1. With the hedge trimmer turned OFF, align the battery pack with the battery port on the tool's handle.
2. Slide the battery pack firmly into the tool until it locks securely into place. Ensure it is fully seated to prevent accidental dislodgement during operation.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting the Trimmer:

• To start the hedge trimmer, grasp the main handle and the wraparound auxiliary handle firmly.
• Depress the trigger switch located on the main handle. The trimmer will begin operating.
• To stop the trimmer, release the trigger switch.

2. Trimming Techniques:

• General Trimming: Hold the trimmer with both hands, keeping the blades away from your body. Use a sweeping motion to cut through hedges.
• Horizontal Trimming: For flat tops, hold the trimmer slightly tilted (5-10 degrees) to ensure a clean, even cut.
• Vertical Trimming: For sides of hedges, use an upward or downward sweeping motion, starting from the bottom and working your way up.
• Cutting Capacity: The trimmer is designed to cut branches up to 3/4-inch thick. Do not force the trimmer through thicker branches; use pruning shears for larger cuts.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Blades:

• After each use, ensure the battery is removed.
• Use a stiff brush to remove debris, sap, and leaves from the blades.
• Apply a light machine oil or blade lubricant to the blades to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.

2. General Cleaning:

• Wipe down the exterior of the tool with a damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents or solvents.
• Keep ventilation openings clear of dust and debris.

• Store the hedge trimmer in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
• Always use the blade sheath when storing or transporting the tool.
• Remove the battery pack from the tool before storing for extended periods.
