5. Operation

  • Automatic Operation: Once the current time is set and trippers are installed, the timer will automatically turn the connected appliance ON and OFF according to the programmed schedule.
  • Manual Override: To temporarily override the programmed settings (e.g., to turn an appliance ON when it's scheduled OFF, or vice versa), turn the manual knob (labeled 'B' on some models) counter-clockwise. The timer will resume its programmed schedule at the next ON/OFF point.
  • Power Failure: In the event of a power failure, the timer will stop. Once power is restored, the timer will not automatically reset to the correct time. You must manually reset the current time by rotating the dial clockwise until the correct time aligns with the 'TIME NOW' arrow.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the timer's exterior clean and free from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Regularly inspect the power cord and plug for any signs of damage, fraying, or wear. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the timer.
  • Ensure the timer's receptacle is free from moisture and foreign objects.
  • When not in use for extended periods, store the timer in a dry, protected location.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Timer not turning ON/OFF:
    • Check if the timer is properly plugged into a live electrical outlet.
    • Verify that the ON and OFF trippers are correctly installed and making contact with the dial mechanism.
    • Ensure the current time is accurately set on the dial.
    • Check if the manual override knob is in the desired position.
  • Appliance not receiving power:
    • Confirm the appliance itself is functional and properly plugged into the timer's receptacle.
    • Ensure the appliance's power requirements do not exceed the timer's electrical ratings.
  • Timer running continuously (not switching):
    • Ensure both an ON and an OFF tripper are installed on the dial.
    • Check for any obstructions preventing the trippers from engaging the switch mechanism.
