4. Setup Instructions
The Fellowes 8041701 monitor stand offers two mounting options: desk clamp or grommet mount. Choose the method best suited for your desk.
4.1. Desk Clamp Installation
- Attach the desk clamp assembly to the bottom of the main pole using the provided screws.
- Position the clamp on the edge of your desk (1"-3" thick) and tighten the clamp screw until the pole is secure.
4.2. Grommet Mount Installation
- If your desk has a grommet hole, remove the grommet cover.
- Insert the main pole through the grommet hole.
- From underneath the desk, secure the pole using the grommet mounting plate and tightening knob.
4.3. Attaching Monitor Arms and Monitors
- Slide the monitor arm sections onto the main pole at your desired height. Secure them with the locking collars.
- Attach the VESA mounting plates to the back of your monitors using the appropriate screws from the hardware kit. Ensure the screws are tightened securely.
- Carefully slide each monitor (with attached VESA plate) onto the end of its respective monitor arm. Ensure the monitor clicks into place or is secured with the locking mechanism.
- Connect all necessary cables to your monitors and use the integrated cable management clips to route them neatly along the arms and pole.

5. Operating Instructions
The Fellowes 8041701 monitor stand offers extensive adjustability to customize your viewing experience.
5.1. Height Adjustment
To adjust the height of the monitors, loosen the locking collar on the main pole, slide the arm assembly up or down to the desired position (3.5 inches to 16.5 inches from the center of the mounting plate), and then re-tighten the collar securely.
5.2. Tilt and Swivel
Each monitor can be tilted up or down by +/- 37 degrees and swiveled left or right at the arm joints. Gently grasp the monitor edges and adjust to your preferred angle. If the monitor sags, tighten the three screws visible on the round pieces at the end of the arm (part J, as per some instruction sheets) to increase tension.
5.3. Rotation
Monitors can be rotated 360 degrees (portrait to landscape orientation) at the VESA mounting plate. Rotate the monitor gently until it locks into the desired orientation.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the stand with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodic Checks: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Lubrication: No lubrication is required for the moving parts.
7. Troubleshooting
- Monitor Sags or Tilts Downward: This indicates insufficient tension. Locate the three screws on the round pieces at the end of the arm (near the VESA plate) and tighten them with the provided Allen wrench until the monitor holds its position.
- Stand is Unstable: Ensure the desk clamp or grommet mount is fully tightened. Verify that the desk surface is sturdy and capable of supporting the stand and monitors.
- Difficulty Adjusting Height: Loosen the locking collar on the main pole sufficiently before attempting to slide the arm assembly.
- Monitors Not Level: Minor adjustments can be made by slightly loosening the VESA plate screws, leveling the monitor, and re-tightening. For larger discrepancies, check the arm placement on the main pole.
