- VGA (Computer): Connect a VGA cable from your computer's monitor output to the projector's Computer 1 or Computer 2 port.
- USB: Use a USB cable for 3-in-1 USB Plug 'n Play setup, allowing video, audio, and control via a single USB connection to your computer. This port also supports PC-free slideshows from a USB storage device or connection to an Epson DC-06 document camera.

4.4 Initial Power On and Image Adjustment
- Press the power button on the projector or remote control. The status light will turn blue.

- To turn off: Press the Power button twice. The projector will display a shutdown message and cool down before completely turning off.

Insert a USB storage device containing image files (e.g., JPEG) into the projector's USB-A port. Select the USB input source to display images directly without a computer.

The PowerLite X12 supports closed captioning. Enable and configure this feature through the projector's OSD menu under the 'Extended' or 'Settings' section, if available from the input source.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your projector.
6.1 Cleaning the Lens
Gently wipe the projector lens with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, use a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optical surfaces, applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
6.2 Cleaning the Air Filter
The air filter prevents dust from entering the projector. Clean or replace the filter regularly, especially if a warning message appears. Refer to the detailed instructions in the full user guide for filter access and replacement.
6.3 Lamp Replacement
The projector lamp has a finite lifespan. When the lamp reaches the end of its life, the lamp indicator will light up or flash. Replace the lamp with an authentic Epson replacement lamp. Always allow the projector to cool down completely before attempting lamp replacement.
6.4 Storage
When storing the projector for an extended period, ensure it is powered off and cooled down. Store it in a cool, dry place, protected from dust and extreme temperatures.
