Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your Ferplast FAVOLA Hamster Cage:

2. Attach Wire Top to Base: Place the wire top structure onto the clear plastic base. Ensure the clips on the wire top align with the corresponding slots on the base. Securely fasten all clips to ensure the cage is stable.

3. Install Accessories:
   • Exercise Wheel: Position the exercise wheel within the cage, typically on the upper level, and secure it to the wire bars as per the design.
   • Nest-house: Place the nest-house in a quiet corner of the upper level.
   • Food Bowl: Place the food bowl on the upper level, ensuring it is stable and accessible.
   • Drinking Bottle: Attach the drinking bottle to the exterior of the cage, with the spout extending into the cage through the designated opening in the wire mesh. Ensure it is at an appropriate height for your pet.
   • Ladder/Ramp: Connect the ladder or ramp between the upper and lower levels, providing easy access for your pet.
4. Add Bedding: Fill the clear plastic base with appropriate bedding material for hamsters or mice. The deep base helps contain bedding and prevents mess.

Maintenance and Cleaning

1. Daily Spot Cleaning: Remove soiled bedding and uneaten fresh food daily.
2. Weekly Deep Cleaning:
   • Carefully remove your pet and place it in a secure temporary enclosure.
   • Unclip the wire top from the plastic base.
   • Empty all old bedding and discard.
   • Remove all accessories (food bowl, water bottle, wheel, house, tubes).
   • Wash the plastic base and all accessories with warm water and a pet-safe disinfectant or mild soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
   • Wipe down the wire top with a damp cloth.
   • Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.
   • Add fresh bedding and replace all clean accessories.
3. Water Bottle Cleaning: Clean the drinking bottle and spout daily with a small brush to prevent algae and bacterial growth.
