3. Setup

3.1 System Requirements

3.2 Connecting the Hard Drive

  1. Locate an available USB port on your computer. For optimal performance, use a USB 3.0 port. The drive is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports.
  2. Connect the small end of the provided USB 3.0 cable to the port on the Verbatim Store 'n' Go hard drive.
  3. Connect the larger end of the USB 3.0 cable to the USB port on your computer.
  4. The drive is bus-powered and does not require an external power adapter. It will power on automatically once connected.

3.3 Initial Formatting

The Verbatim Store 'n' Go portable hard drive comes pre-formatted in FAT32, allowing for immediate use on both Windows and Mac OS systems.
