Setup
Setting the Time
- Pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to position 2.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back in to position 1 to start the watch.
Setting the Date (if applicable)
If your watch has a date display, pull the crown out to position 1 (first click). Turn the crown to adjust the date. Once set, push the crown back in. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
Operating the Chronograph
Your Timex T2N155 features a chronograph function for measuring elapsed time.
Starting and Stopping the Chronograph
- Press the top pusher (button) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
- Press the top pusher again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be displayed on the sub-dials.
Resetting the Chronograph
- After stopping the chronograph, press the bottom pusher to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
- Wipe the watch case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
- For stainless steel bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.
Water Resistance
While the watch may have some level of water resistance (e.g., "WR 100M" indicated on the dial), it is generally recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to water, especially hot water or steam. Do not operate the crown or pushers when the watch is wet.
Battery Replacement
Your quartz watch is powered by a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to skip, it is likely time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Timex service center to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running:
Check if the crown is pushed all the way in to position 1. If it is, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section under Maintenance.
- Time is Inaccurate:
Ensure the time is set correctly. Extreme temperatures or strong magnetic fields can sometimes affect quartz watch accuracy. If the issue persists, the watch may require servicing.
- Chronograph Hands Not Resetting to Zero:
This may require a chronograph hand calibration. Consult an authorized service center for assistance.
