6. Troubleshooting
If your Sunlite FC8T9/CW lamp is not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- Lamp Not Turning On:
- Ensure the power supply to the fixture is on at both the wall switch and the circuit breaker.
- Check if the lamp is securely seated in its G10Q 4-pin base. Remove and re-insert if necessary.
- Inspect the lamp for any visible damage or breakage. A broken lamp will not operate.
- If the fixture uses a ballast, ensure the ballast is functioning correctly. A faulty ballast can prevent the lamp from lighting.
- Flickering or Dimming:
- Flickering can indicate the lamp is nearing the end of its lifespan and may need replacement.
- Ensure the lamp is fully seated in the base. Loose connections can cause flickering.
- A failing ballast can also cause flickering or dimming.
- Unusual Noise:
- A humming noise often indicates a problem with the fixture's ballast. Consult a qualified electrician if this persists.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider replacing the lamp or consulting a qualified electrician for fixture inspection.
