Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the ABUS 110/155 Hardened Steel Concealed Hinge Pin Hasp, 6-1/4 Inch model. This hasp is designed to enhance security by protecting against physical attacks through its hardened steel construction and concealed hinge pins.
Product Overview
The ABUS 110/155 hasp features staples and hinge pins made from hardened steel, providing robust protection. Its design incorporates concealed screws and internal hardened steel loops to secure the padlock shackle, preventing direct access to vulnerable points.

Setup and Installation
- Select Location: Choose a suitable surface for installation. The hasp's double and triple hinge design allows for installation around corners, providing flexibility.
- Prepare Surface: Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound.
- Position Hasp: Place the hasp in the desired position. Mark the locations for the mounting holes on both the hasp side and the shackle side.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes according to the size of the provided mounting hardware (bolts and screws). Exercise caution when drilling into hardened steel components; specialized drill bits may be required if attempting to enlarge existing holes in the hardened steel sections.
- Secure Hasp: Attach the hasp using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure all screws and bolts are tightened securely. The design conceals fasteners when the hasp is locked, enhancing security.
- Padlock Compatibility: Ensure the padlock chosen has a shackle that fits through the hasp's shackle hole (approximately 12.5 mm or 0.49 inches) and that its security rating matches or exceeds that of the hasp.

Operating Instructions
To operate the ABUS 110/155 hasp:
- To Lock: Close the hasp by aligning the shackle hole of the moving arm with the fixed shackle loop. Insert a compatible padlock through the aligned holes and secure the padlock. This action conceals the mounting screws and the hinge pin, enhancing security.
- To Unlock: Unlock and remove the padlock. Pivot the moving arm of the hasp away from the fixed shackle loop to open.
Maintenance
The ABUS 110/155 hasp is constructed from durable hardened steel and requires minimal maintenance. Regular inspection is recommended to ensure optimal performance:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the hasp with a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Lubrication: If the hinge mechanism becomes stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the hinge pins.
- Inspection: Check for any signs of wear, damage, or loose mounting hardware. Tighten any loose fasteners immediately.
Troubleshooting
- Difficulty Drilling Mounting Holes: The hasp features hardened steel components. If you need to enlarge existing holes or drill new ones in the hardened sections, use appropriate high-quality drill bits (e.g., cobalt or carbide-tipped) and apply steady pressure with a slow drill speed.
- Hasp Does Not Close Properly:
- Check for obstructions around the hinge or shackle area.
- Ensure the mounting surfaces are level and the hasp is installed without tension or misalignment.
- Verify that the padlock shackle is not bent or damaged.
- Padlock Does Not Fit: Confirm the padlock shackle diameter is compatible with the hasp's shackle hole (approximately 12.5 mm / 0.49 inches).
