Important Safety Instructions
- Always unplug the sewing machine from the electrical outlet immediately after using, before cleaning, or when making any user servicing adjustments mentioned in this instruction manual.
- Do not allow children to play with the machine. Close supervision is necessary when the machine is used by or near children.
- Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Use only attachments recommended by the manufacturer.
- Never operate this sewing machine if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
- Keep fingers away from all moving parts. Special care is required around the sewing machine needle.
- Always use the proper needle plate. The wrong plate can cause the needle to break.

- Turn the sewing machine off when making any adjustments in the needle area, such as threading the needle, changing the needle, threading the bobbin, or changing the presser foot.
- Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
- To disconnect, turn all controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Operating Instructions
1. Stitch Selection
The SIRUBA HSM-2215 offers 15 built-in stitch patterns. To select a stitch, turn the pattern selector dial to the desired letter (A-T) corresponding to the stitch pattern shown on the machine's body.

2. Stitch Length and Width Adjustment
Adjust stitch length using the stitch length dial (0-4.0 mm). Stitch width is integrated (0-5.0 mm) for most patterns. Refer to the machine's markings for specific stitch settings.
3. Using Presser Feet
The machine comes with a multi-purpose foot, buttonhole foot, and zipper foot. To change a presser foot, raise the needle and presser foot, then press the lever at the back of the presser foot holder to release it. Attach the new foot by aligning it with the pin and lowering the presser foot lifter until it snaps into place.
4. Reverse Sewing
To reinforce stitches at the beginning and end of a seam, press and hold the reverse lever. The machine will sew backward. Release the lever to resume forward sewing.
5. Free Arm Sewing
Remove the accessory box/extension table to convert the machine to free arm sewing. This is useful for sewing cylindrical items like cuffs, sleeves, and pant hems.
6. Buttonhole Sewing
Use the buttonhole foot and follow the 4-step buttonhole instructions provided in the full instruction book. The machine allows for precise buttonhole creation.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs using a small brush. Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
2. Needle Replacement
Replace the needle frequently, especially after sewing thick fabrics or if it becomes bent or dull. A damaged needle can cause skipped stitches or fabric damage. Loosen the needle clamp screw, remove the old needle, insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back, and tighten the screw.
3. Lubrication
Refer to the full instruction book for specific lubrication points and frequency. Generally, a few drops of sewing machine oil in designated areas can ensure smooth operation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Skipped Stitches | Incorrect needle, bent needle, improper threading, wrong needle size for fabric. | Replace needle with correct type/size, re-thread machine, ensure needle is inserted correctly. |
| Thread Breaking | Incorrect threading, tension too tight, poor quality thread, bent needle, burr on needle plate. | Re-thread machine, adjust tension, use good quality thread, replace needle, check for burrs. |
| Fabric Puckering | Tension too tight, incorrect stitch length, wrong needle for fabric. | Adjust tension, increase stitch length, use appropriate needle. |
| Machine Not Starting | Power cord not connected, machine not switched on, foot controller not connected. | Check power connections, ensure power switch is ON, connect foot controller. |
