1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the DMT Proscreen Electric Projector Screen. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your new electric projector screen. The integrated DMT control system features an inline switch, a built-in infrared control system, a 12V trigger, RS232/Central Control compatibility, and an external infrared receiver, offering versatile control options for your home cinema or presentation setup.
Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation, and retain it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
To ensure safe operation and prevent damage, please observe the following safety precautions:
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the screen's requirements. Do not operate with damaged power cords or plugs. Disconnect power before any maintenance or cleaning.
- Installation: The screen is heavy (17 kg) and requires secure mounting. Professional installation is recommended. Ensure mounting hardware is appropriate for the wall/ceiling material and can support the screen's weight.
- Operation: Keep hands and objects clear of the screen's path during extension and retraction. Do not attempt to manually force the screen up or down.
- Environment: Do not expose the screen to moisture, extreme temperatures, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Keep away from heat sources.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the screen during operation to prevent injury.

4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the screen's performance and longevity. It is recommended that two people perform the installation.
4.1 Choosing a Location
Select a location that is flat, stable, and free from obstructions. Ensure there is a power outlet nearby. Avoid areas with direct sunlight or strong drafts.
4.2 Mounting the Screen
- Measure and Mark: Determine the desired mounting height and position. Mark the drilling points for the mounting brackets on the wall or ceiling. The screen housing dimensions are approximately 259 cm (length).
- Drill Holes: Use an appropriate drill bit for your wall/ceiling material and drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
- Install Brackets: Securely attach the mounting brackets using the provided screws and anchors. Ensure they are level and firmly fixed.

4.3 Electrical Connection
- Connect the power cable to the screen's power input.
- Plug the power cable into a standard electrical outlet.
- If using the external IR receiver, connect it to the designated port on the screen's control unit. Position the receiver where it has a clear line of sight to your remote control.
5. Operating Instructions
The DMT Proscreen offers multiple control methods:
5.1 Inline Switch Control
Locate the inline switch on the power cable or screen housing. It typically has "UP", "DOWN", and "STOP" buttons. Press "UP" to extend the screen, "DOWN" to retract it, and "STOP" to pause movement at any desired position.
5.2 Infrared (IR) Remote Control
Point the IR remote control towards the screen's built-in IR receiver or the external IR receiver (if connected). Use the corresponding buttons to extend, retract, or stop the screen.
5.3 12V Trigger Control
The 12V trigger input allows the screen to automatically extend or retract in sync with a projector or other compatible device. Connect a 12V trigger cable (not included) from your projector's 12V output to the screen's 12V trigger input. When the projector is turned on, the screen will extend; when turned off, it will retract.
5.4 RS232/Central Control
For advanced integration into home automation systems, the screen supports RS232/Central Control. Refer to your central control system's manual and the screen's technical specifications for specific commands and connection details. This feature allows for seamless control within a larger integrated system.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your projector screen.
- Cleaning the Screen Surface: The screen surface is matte white. Gently wipe the screen with a soft, damp cloth using mild soap and water if necessary. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the screen material. Allow the screen to air dry completely before retracting.
- Cleaning the Housing: Wipe the screen housing with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust.
- Motor Care: The electric motor is maintenance-free. Do not attempt to lubricate or disassemble it.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, ensure the screen is fully retracted into its housing to protect the surface from dust and damage.
