6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Voltage Testing (DC Voltmeter)

Simply touch the probe tip to any circuit or component. The LCD display will show the voltage reading. The Red/Green polarity indicators will instantly show if the circuit is positive (Red) or ground (Green).

6.2. Supplying Power or Ground

The Power Probe III can safely supply power or ground to components for functional testing.

  • To supply positive voltage: Touch the probe tip to the component's terminal. Press the top part of the Power Switch (towards the probe tip). The Red polarity indicator will light up, and the LCD will show the applied voltage.
  • To supply ground: Touch the probe tip to the component's terminal. Press the bottom part of the Power Switch (away from the probe tip). The Green polarity indicator will light up.

CAUTION: Do not apply power or ground to sensitive electronic components without consulting a service manual. Always be aware of the current draw to avoid tripping the circuit breaker or damaging components.

6.3. Continuity Testing

To test for continuity, press the Mode Button until the continuity symbol (Ω) appears on the LCD. Touch the probe tip to one end of the circuit and connect the auxiliary ground lead (if applicable) to the other end. A low resistance reading and an audible tone indicate continuity.

6.4. Circuit Breaker Operation
