Operating Instructions
Power On/Off and Volume
To power on or off the walkie talkie, rotate the turning knob located at the top of the device. This knob also controls the volume. Turn clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease.
Channel Selection
The walkie talkie operates on 8 license-free 446 MHz channels. Use the channel up/down buttons to select your desired channel. For private communication, you can also select from 121 sub channels to minimize interference.
Transmitting and Receiving
- To Transmit: Press and hold the "Push-to-Talk" (PTT) button on the side of the walkie talkie or on the headset. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting.
- To Receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The walkie talkie will automatically receive signals on the selected channel.
Voice Operated Transmission (VOX)
The VOX function allows for hands-free communication. When activated, the walkie talkie will automatically begin transmitting when it detects your voice. You can adjust the microphone sensitivity to suit your environment, allowing for clear transmission even when whispering.
Scan Function
Activate the scan function to automatically scan all available channels for activity. This helps in finding an active channel or identifying which channel other users are on.
Keylock
To prevent accidental changes to settings during use, activate the keylock feature. Refer to the on-screen prompts or specific button combinations for activation/deactivation.
Call Tones and Roger Beep
The device offers 15 different call tones to alert you to incoming calls. The "Roger Beep" feature emits a short tone when you release the PTT button, signaling to the other party that you have finished transmitting.
Vibration Function
For discreet alerts, the walkie talkie includes a vibration function that can be activated for incoming calls.
Backlight Display
The display is equipped with a backlight, ensuring visibility and usability in low-light conditions or darkness.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the walkie talkie. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Always use the provided rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and adapters. Fully charge batteries before first use and when the battery indicator is low. Store the walkie talkies with fully charged batteries if not used for extended periods.
- Water Resistance: The device is drip waterproof (IPX2 rated). Avoid submerging the walkie talkie in water or exposing it to heavy rain. Ensure all ports are covered when not in use.
- Storage: Store the walkie talkies in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
