3.3. Power On and Sync

  1. Power On Devices: Power on your source device, the My Wireless TV Transmitter, the My Wireless TV Receiver, and your HDTV/projector.
  2. Select Input: On your HDTV/projector, select the HDMI input connected to the My Wireless TV Receiver.
  3. Automatic Sync: The Transmitter and Receiver should automatically establish a wireless connection. The "Wireless" LED indicator on both units will illuminate when a connection is established.
  4. Manual Sync (if needed): If the units do not sync automatically, press the "Sync" button on both the Transmitter and Receiver simultaneously for a few seconds until the "Wireless" LED blinks, then becomes solid.
  5. Enjoy: Once synced, the video from your source device should appear on your remote display.

4. Operation

4.1. Viewing Content

After successful setup and syncing, the content from your HDMI source device will be wirelessly transmitted to the connected HDTV or projector. Ensure the remote display is set to the correct HDMI input.

4.2. Remote Control Functionality (IR Back-channel)

The included IR Blaster and IR Receiver cables enable you to control your source device from the remote display location. Point your source device's original remote control at the My Wireless TV Receiver's IR sensor. The signal will be transmitted back to the Transmitter, which then uses the IR Blaster to control your source device.

4.3. On-Screen Control

The My Wireless TV kit features an on-screen control interface. Use the provided remote control to navigate this interface for source switching and accessing advanced features. Refer to the quick start guide for specific remote control button functions.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the Transmitter and Receiver. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the units have adequate ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Actiontec support website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Power Cycle: If experiencing minor issues, power cycling both the Transmitter and Receiver (unplugging and replugging after 10 seconds) can often resolve them.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your My Wireless TV kit.

6.1. No Picture or Signal

  • Check Connections: Ensure all HDMI and power cables are securely connected to both the Transmitter and Receiver, and to your source and display devices.
  • Correct Input: Verify that your HDTV or projector is set to the correct HDMI input.
  • Power Status: Confirm that both the Transmitter and Receiver are powered on (power LEDs illuminated).
  • Wireless Sync: Check the "Wireless" LED on both units. If it's not solid, try pressing the "Sync" button on both units simultaneously.
  • Source Device: Ensure your source device is powered on and outputting a signal.
  • Interference: Wireless transmission can be affected by obstacles (walls, furniture) and other wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones). Try repositioning the units or reducing the distance between them.

6.2. Picture Flickering or Intermittent Signal

  • Distance and Obstacles: The wireless signal strength decreases with distance and when passing through multiple walls or dense materials. Try moving the Receiver closer to the Transmitter or ensuring a clearer line of sight.
  • Interference: Other wireless devices operating on similar frequencies (2.4GHz or 5GHz) can cause interference. Try changing the wireless channel if your units support this feature (check on-screen menu or support documentation).
  • Power Cycle: Perform a power cycle on both the Transmitter and Receiver.

6.3. Remote Control Not Working

  • IR Cable Placement: Ensure the IR Blaster emitter is directly over the IR sensor of your source device. The IR Receiver should be positioned to receive signals from your remote.
  • Line of Sight: Ensure there is a clear line of sight between your remote control and the IR Receiver.
  • Batteries: Check the batteries in your source device's remote control.

6.4. Audio Issues (No Sound or Distorted Audio)

  • HDMI Connections: Re-check all HDMI cable connections.
  • Display Audio Settings: Verify the audio settings on your HDTV or projector.
  • Source Audio Settings: Ensure your source device is outputting audio correctly.
