2. Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance to prevent injury or damage. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Electrical Safety: This appliance requires 220-240 Volts wiring with a 50 amp breaker. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local codes.

  • Child Control Lock: Utilize the child control lock feature to prevent unintended activation, especially important for households with children or pets.
  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation as specified in the installation section to prevent overheating.
  • Cleaning Safety: Always activate the lock feature before cleaning the cooktop to prevent accidental activation of burners.

4.3. Power Boost Mode

Each heating element can utilize a Power Boost Mode for up to 5 minutes, providing exceptionally fast heat for tasks like boiling water quickly. The 11-inch element offers up to 3700-Watt, 7.5-inch elements up to 2400-Watt, and 6.5-inch elements up to 2000-Watt in this mode.

To activate the child control lock, press and hold the lock button (often indicated by a key or lock icon) for a few seconds until the indicator light illuminates. This prevents accidental changes to settings or activation of burners. Repeat the process to unlock.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

The smooth tempered glass surface of your Empava cooktop is designed for effortless cleanup.

5.1. Daily Cleaning

For daily cleaning, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For best results and to maintain a streak-free, high-gloss surface, use a ceramic cooktop cleaner regularly.

5.2. Preventing Scratches and Chips

While durable, the glass surface can be scratched or chipped by sharp objects or heavy impacts. Always lift cookware rather than sliding it across the surface. Consider using silicone mats designed for induction cooktops to protect the surface and keep cookware stable.

5.3. Using the Lock Feature for Cleaning

Before cleaning the control panel area, activate the child control lock. This will prevent accidental activation of burners or changes to settings while you wipe the surface.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your cooktop.

  • "H" Indicator Remains On: This indicates the surface is still hot to the touch. It will disappear once the surface has cooled down sufficiently. This is a normal safety feature.
  • Cooktop Not Heating / Pan Not Detected: Ensure your cookware is induction-compatible and has a flat bottom. The pan size sensor requires proper contact. If the pan is removed for more than a few seconds, the burner may turn off. Place the pan back quickly or reactivate the burner.
  • Controls Unresponsive or Activating Randomly: Liquids or oil spills on the control panel can interfere with touch sensitivity. Clean the control area thoroughly and dry it completely. Use the lock feature during cleaning.
  • Unusual Noises (Humming, Buzzing, Clicking): Induction cooktops may produce some operational noises, such as a low hum or buzz, especially at higher power settings or with certain types of cookware (e.g., cheaper pans). A clicking sound may indicate the fan operating to cool the internal components. These are generally normal.
  • Cooktop Turns Off Unexpectedly: This can occur if liquids boil over onto the control panel, or if the pan is lifted from the burner for an extended period. Clean any spills and reactivate the burner.
