3. Features
- Direct Contact Heat Pipes: Three direct contact heat pipes ensure efficient heat transfer from the CPU to the heatsink fins.
- Wide CPU Compatibility: Supports Intel Core i5 / Core i3 / Core2 Extreme / Core2 Quad / Core2 Duo / Pentium / Celeron and AMD FX-Series / A-Series / Phenom II X4 / Phenom II X3 / Phenom II X2 / Phenom X4 / Phenom X3 / Athlon II X4 / Athlon II X3 / Athlon processors.
- High TDP Support: Capable of cooling CPUs with over 130W TDP.
- PWM Fan Control: The included fan operates between 800 and 2800 R.P.M. with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for automatic speed adjustment based on CPU temperature, balancing cooling performance and noise levels.
- Low Noise Operation: Fan noise level ranges from 17-35 dBA.
- Aluminum Fin Heatsink: Optimized aluminum fin design for maximum heat dissipation.

4. Setup (Installation)
Proper installation is crucial for optimal cooling performance. Please follow these steps carefully.
4.1. Preparation
- Power Off: Ensure your computer is completely powered off and disconnected from the power source.
- Access Motherboard: Open your computer case to access the motherboard and CPU socket.
- Remove Old Cooler: If replacing an existing cooler, carefully remove it and clean any old thermal paste from the CPU surface using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
4.2. Applying Thermal Paste
Apply a small amount of the included thermal paste to the center of your CPU's Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS). A pea-sized dot is generally sufficient. Do not spread it manually; the pressure from the cooler will distribute it evenly.
4.3. Mounting the Cooler
The Hyper TX3 uses different mounting methods for Intel and AMD sockets.
For Intel LGA1156/775 Sockets:
- Attach the appropriate Intel mounting brackets to the cooler base.
- Align the cooler's push-pins with the holes around the CPU socket on the motherboard.
- Press down firmly on each push-pin in a diagonal pattern until they click into place, securing the cooler.
For AMD AM3/AM2/940/939/754 Sockets:
- Attach the AMD retention clips to the cooler base.
- Hook one side of the cooler's retention clip onto the corresponding tab of the CPU retention module on the motherboard.
- Apply gentle pressure and push down the lever on the other side of the retention clip to secure it to the second tab.
4.4. Connecting the Fan
Connect the 3-pin fan connector from the Hyper TX3 fan to the CPU_FAN header on your motherboard. Ensure the fan cable is routed away from moving parts and other components.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 operates automatically.
- Automatic Fan Control: The fan's speed is controlled by your motherboard's PWM function, which adjusts fan RPM based on the CPU temperature. This ensures efficient cooling when needed and quiet operation during lighter loads.
- BIOS Settings: You may access your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings to fine-tune fan curves or monitor CPU temperatures. Refer to your motherboard manual for specific instructions.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps maintain optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your CPU cooler.
- Dust Removal: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months), power off your computer and use compressed air to gently blow dust out of the heatsink fins and fan blades. Hold the fan blades to prevent them from spinning rapidly during cleaning, which can damage the fan motor.
- Thermal Paste: Re-applying thermal paste is generally not required unless the cooler is removed or re-seated. If you do remove the cooler, clean both the CPU and cooler base thoroughly and apply new thermal paste.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Hyper TX3 cooler, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| High CPU Temperatures | Improper thermal paste application; Loose cooler mounting; Excessive dust buildup; Incorrect fan orientation. | Re-apply thermal paste; Ensure cooler is securely mounted; Clean heatsink and fan; Verify fan is blowing air towards the heatsink. |
| Fan Not Spinning or Noisy | Fan cable disconnected; Obstruction in fan blades; Fan failure; High current draw with multiple fans. | Check fan connection to CPU_FAN header; Remove any obstructions; Replace fan if faulty; If using multiple fans, ensure motherboard header can supply sufficient current or use a dedicated fan controller. |
| Cooler Does Not Fit | Incorrect socket type; Interference with RAM or case. | Verify CPU socket compatibility (LGA1156/775, AM3/AM2/940/939/754); Check case and RAM clearance before purchase. |
