1. Product Overview

2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1 Installing Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the flash unit.
  2. Insert two 1.5V "AA" batteries (alkaline, lithium, NiCad, or NiMH) according to the polarity indicators inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Ensure batteries are fully charged before use. Use the provided AC Rapid Battery Charger for the included rechargeable batteries.

4.2 Attaching to Camera

  1. Ensure both the camera and flash unit are powered off.
  2. Slide the flash unit's mounting foot into the camera's hot shoe.
  3. Tighten the locking ring or lever on the flash unit's foot to secure it firmly to the camera.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the power button () until the LCD screen illuminates.
  • To power off, press and hold the power button again until the LCD screen turns off.

5.2 Basic Flash Modes

Press the MODE button to cycle through available flash modes:

  • TTL (Through-The-Lens) Autoflash: The flash output is automatically controlled by the camera's metering system for optimal exposure.
  • Manual Flash (M): You manually set the flash output power (e.g., 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, etc.). Use the dial/buttons to adjust power.

5.3 Zoom Head Adjustment

The flash features a zoom head (24-85mm) that can be adjusted to match the focal length of your lens. Press the ZOOM button and use the dial/buttons to set the desired zoom position. In TTL mode, the flash may automatically adjust the zoom based on the camera's lens information.

5.4 Bounce and Swivel

The flash head can be tilted vertically up to 90° and swiveled horizontally up to 270° to bounce light off ceilings or walls for softer, more natural illumination. Gently adjust the flash head to the desired angle.

5.5 Wireless Flash Function

This flash supports wireless operation as a master or slave unit. Press the SLAVE GR/CH button to enter wireless mode and select the desired group (A, B, C) and channel. Refer to your camera's manual for specific wireless flash settings.

  • Master Mode: Controls other slave flash units.
  • Slave Mode: Triggered by a master flash unit or the camera's built-in flash.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the flash unit. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use organic solvents. Use the provided cleaning kit for optical surfaces.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the flash in a cool, dry place, preferably in its pouch.
  • Battery Care: Rechargeable batteries should be fully charged before storage and periodically recharged if stored for a long time.
