2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The Dorcy Camping Lantern requires three (3) D-cell batteries for operation. Batteries are not included with the product.
- Locate the battery compartment cover at the base of the lantern.
- Twist the cover counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
- Insert three D-cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and twist it clockwise until securely locked.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off and Light Modes
The lantern features a durable side-mounted push button switch for easy operation and mode selection.
- To Turn On: Press the push button once. The lantern will illuminate with the standard LED area light.
- To Change Light Mode: Press the push button repeatedly to cycle through available light modes. The lantern offers a dual function LED area light and an amber night light.
- To Turn Off: Continue pressing the push button until the light turns off, or press and hold the button for a few seconds.

3.2 Using the Hanging Hook
The lantern is equipped with a built-in hanging hook integrated into the handle for convenient, hands-free illumination.
- Extend the handle upwards to reveal the hanging hook.
- Hang the lantern from a tent loop, branch, or any suitable overhead fixture to provide ambient lighting.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Care
- Always use fresh, high-quality D-cell batteries for optimal performance.
- Replace all three batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
- Remove batteries if the lantern will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.
4.2 Cleaning
- Wipe the exterior of the lantern with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the plastic finish.
5. Troubleshooting
- Lantern does not turn on: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the proper polarity. Replace old or depleted batteries with new ones.
- Light is dim: This indicates low battery power. Replace all three D-cell batteries.
- Intermittent operation: Ensure battery contacts are clean and free from corrosion. Re-insert batteries firmly.
