Danco HYR460 HydroRight Universal Water-Saving Toilet Repair Kit

Model: HYR460

Brand: Danco

1. Introduction

The Danco HYR460 HydroRight Total Repair Kit is designed to enhance your toilet's efficiency by converting a standard toilet into a dual-flush system. This kit helps conserve water by reducing the volume used per flush and addresses common toilet issues such as non-functioning flappers, tangled chains, and leaky handles. The dual-flush converter provides a secure seal, eliminating leaks and offering two flush options: a Quick Flush for liquids and paper, and a Full Flush for solids.

Key Features:

  • Water-Saving Dual Flush: Converts standard toilets to dual flush, reducing water consumption.
  • Eliminates Leaks: Replaces worn-out flappers, handles, and faulty flapper chains with a permafit silicone seal.
  • Dual-Flush Button: Features a short center button for Quick Flush and a complete push button for Full Flush.
  • Leak Detection & Calibration: Detects leaks and allows for calibration to adjust water volume.
  • Easy Drop-in Installation: Designed for installation without removing the toilet tank.

2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety during installation and maintenance. Ensure the main water supply to the toilet is turned off before beginning any work. 5. Operating Instructions

The Danco HYR460 HydroRight kit provides two flushing options:

  • Quick Flush: Press the short center button for a reduced water flush, ideal for liquids and paper. This option is typically sufficient for 4 out of 5 flushes.
  • Full Flush: Press the complete push button for a standard water volume flush, suitable for solids.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Danco HydroRight system.

  • Avoid Bleach Tablets: Do not use bleach tablets in the toilet tank, as they can damage the components and void the warranty.
  • Clean Flapper Valve: Periodically inspect and clean the silicone seal of the dual flush converter to prevent sediment buildup, especially in areas with hard water. This helps maintain a proper seal and prevents leaks.
  • Leak Detection: The system is designed to detect leaks. If you notice the tank refilling without a flush, refer to the troubleshooting section.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

Issue: My Tank Is Refilling & Toilet Was Not Flushed?

  • Check Blue Dome Gasket: Ensure the blue dome gasket on the dual flush converter is fully and properly sealed onto the flush valve opening.

Issue: I Am Having To Hold My Quick Flush Button In Order To Get A Full Flush?

  • Check Button Installation: Verify that the push button handle is correctly installed and not obstructed.
  • Check Blue Float Height: Ensure the blue float on the fill valve is at the correct water level. Adjust if necessary.
  • Check Control Cable For Kinks: Inspect the control cable connecting the button to the dual flush mechanism for any kinks or obstructions.

Issue: My Toilet Bowl Doesn't Fully Empty With Quick Flush?

  • Check Water Level: Ensure the water level in the tank is in line with the fill valve float. Adjust if too low.
  • Check That Jets Are Operating: Verify that the jets in the toilet bowl are operating correctly during a flush.
  • Check Bowl Water Level: Confirm that the water level in the toilet bowl is adequate.

Compatibility Notes:

  • The Dual Flush Converter works with standard 2-inch flush valves.
  • Requires a 10-inch minimum clearance from the highest point of the flush valve opening to the inside of the tank lid.
  • NOT COMPATIBLE with 1.28 GPF toilets, toilets with 3-inch flush valves, or Mansfield Brand toilets.
