The scanner features a compact, handheld design with a control panel typically located at one end, including buttons for power, scan, and settings adjustments, along with a small LCD display. The scanning mechanism is located on the underside, designed to glide smoothly over documents.

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the scanner.
  2. Slide or open the cover according to the markings.
  3. Insert the Lithium Ion battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. MicroSD Card Installation

  1. Locate the MicroSD card slot, usually on the side of the scanner.
  2. Gently insert the MicroSD card into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is oriented correctly.
  3. To remove, gently push the card further in until it springs out.

5.3. Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the Power button until the display illuminates.
  • To power off: Press and hold the Power button until the display turns off.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Scanning Documents and Photos

The scanner is designed to scan various flat materials up to 8.5 x 14 inches.

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on and a MicroSD card is inserted.
  2. Place the document or photo on a flat, stable surface.
  3. Position the scanner at the top edge of the material to be scanned, ensuring the scanning head is in contact with the surface.
  4. Press the Scan button to begin scanning.
  5. Slowly and steadily glide the scanner downwards over the entire surface of the material. Maintain even pressure and a straight path for optimal results. The ScanRite roller tracking technology assists in guiding the scanner.
  6. Once the scan is complete, press the Scan button again to stop. The scanned image will be automatically saved to the MicroSD card.

6.2. Adjusting Scan Settings

The scanner allows you to adjust settings such as resolution (DPI) and file format (JPEG/PDF).

  6. Safely eject the removable disk drive from your computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning the Scanner

Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal scanning performance.

  • Ensure the scanner is powered off and disconnected from any power source.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to wipe the exterior of the scanner.
  • For the scanning glass or lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth or solution to avoid scratches.
  • Do not spray cleaning solutions directly onto the scanner.

7.2. Calibration

If scan quality degrades or lines appear, the scanner may require calibration. A calibration sheet is typically included with the product.

  1. Power on the scanner.
  2. Locate the calibration function in the scanner's menu or by pressing a dedicated calibration button (refer to your scanner's display).
  3. Place the provided calibration sheet on a flat surface.
