Setup
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the mixer and inspect it for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging materials for future transport or storage.
2. Power Connection
Connect the supplied power cable to the mixer's power input and then to a suitable AC power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting.
3. Audio Connections
The DJX900USB offers multiple input and output options:
- Microphone Input: Connect a microphone to the XLR input on the top panel.
- Channel Inputs (1-4): Each channel features RCA inputs for Line/CD and Phono sources. Connect your turntables, CD players, or other audio devices. Ensure the correct input type (Phono/Line) is selected via the switch for each channel.
- Master Output: Connect your main sound system or amplifier to the Master RCA or XLR outputs.
- Booth Output: Connect your monitor speakers to the Booth RCA outputs.
- Record Output: Use the Record RCA output to connect to a recording device.
4. USB Connection

Operating Instructions
1. Channel Controls (Channels 1-4)
- Gain: Adjusts the input level for each channel. Set to achieve a strong signal without clipping (distortion).
- Equalizer (EQ): Each channel has a 3-band EQ (High, Mid, Low) with kill switches for instant frequency cut. Use these to shape the sound of each track.
- Channel Fader: Controls the volume of the individual channel.
- Monitor Cue: Routes the channel's audio to the headphones for pre-listening.
2. INFINIUM 'Contact-Free' VCA Crossfader
The DJX900USB features a high-quality optical crossfader designed for durability and smooth operation. It includes adjustable tension and fader curve settings to suit different mixing styles.
- CF Curve: Adjusts the response curve of the crossfader, from a smooth blend to a sharp cut.
- Assign A/B: Assigns channels to either side of the crossfader.

6. Monitoring Section
- Phones Level: Adjusts the volume of the headphone output.
- Monitor Mode: Selects what is heard in the headphones (Cue, Master, or Split).
- Split: Divides the headphone output, sending Cue to one ear and Master to the other.
7. Master Output Controls
- Master Balance: Adjusts the left/right balance of the main output.
- Master Level: Controls the overall volume of the main output.
- Booth Level: Controls the volume of the monitor output.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the mixer's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish and controls. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
2. Fader Care
The INFINIUM 'Contact-Free' VCA Crossfader is designed for longevity. Avoid applying excessive force or introducing liquids/debris into the fader mechanism. If fader performance degrades, consult a qualified service technician.
3. Storage
When not in use, store the mixer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If transporting, use appropriate protective casing.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound Output:
- Check all audio cable connections (inputs, master output, booth output).
- Ensure the mixer is powered on and the Master Level and Channel Faders are raised.
- Verify that the correct input source is selected for each channel.
- Check the volume levels on your amplifier or powered speakers.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the Gain levels on individual channels and the Master Level.
- Ensure input sources are not overdriving the mixer.
- Check for damaged cables.
- USB Audio Not Working:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the mixer and the computer.
- Verify that the DJX900USB is selected as the audio input/output device in your computer's sound settings or DAW software.
- Restart your computer and the mixer.
- BPM Counter Inaccurate:
- The auto-BPM counter works best with clear, rhythmic audio. Complex or unstructured audio may result in less accurate readings.
- Ensure the signal level for the channel is adequate.
