1. Introduction

This Neewer Pro Battery Grip is designed to enhance the functionality and handling of your Nikon D5100, D5200, or D5300 DSLR camera. It allows for the use of two EN-EL14 Li-ion batteries, effectively doubling your camera's battery capacity and extending shooting time. The grip also features a vertical shutter release button, providing improved ergonomics and stability for vertical photography.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to install the battery grip onto your camera:

  1. Remove Camera Battery Door: Carefully open your camera's battery compartment and remove the battery door. This door typically slides out or detaches by pulling it at a 45-degree angle. The battery grip often includes a storage slot for this door to prevent loss.
  2. Insert Batteries into Grip: Open the battery tray holder on the grip. Insert one or two EN-EL14 Li-ion batteries into the tray, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery tray securely.
  3. Attach Grip to Camera: Align the battery grip's electrode contacts with your camera's battery compartment. Slide the grip into place and then use the connection screw to firmly attach the grip to the camera's tripod socket. Ensure it is tightened sufficiently to prevent movement.
  4. Connect Signal-Transferring Cable (Optional): If you intend to use the vertical shutter release button, connect the small signal-transferring cable from the grip to your camera's remote shutter release port.
