- Electrode Contacts: These connect the grip to your camera's battery compartment.
- Connection Screw: Used to securely attach the battery grip to the camera's tripod socket.
- Battery Tray Holder: The compartment where EN-EL14 batteries are inserted.
- Attach/Detach Knob: Used to loosen or tighten the grip's connection to the camera.
- ON/OFF Switch: Controls the power supply from the grip to the camera.
- Vertical Shooting Shutter Button: Provides a convenient shutter release for vertical orientation.
- 1/4 Screw Hole: Located at the bottom, suitable for mounting the camera and grip onto a tripod.

4. Setup
Follow these steps to install the battery grip onto your camera:
- Remove Camera Battery Door: Carefully open your camera's battery compartment and remove the battery door. This door typically slides out or detaches by pulling it at a 45-degree angle. The battery grip often includes a storage slot for this door to prevent loss.
- Insert Batteries into Grip: Open the battery tray holder on the grip. Insert one or two EN-EL14 Li-ion batteries into the tray, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery tray securely.
- Attach Grip to Camera: Align the battery grip's electrode contacts with your camera's battery compartment. Slide the grip into place and then use the connection screw to firmly attach the grip to the camera's tripod socket. Ensure it is tightened sufficiently to prevent movement.
- Connect Signal-Transferring Cable (Optional): If you intend to use the vertical shutter release button, connect the small signal-transferring cable from the grip to your camera's remote shutter release port.

5. Operating Instructions
Once the battery grip is installed, operate it as follows:
- Power On/Off: Use the ON/OFF switch located on the battery grip to control the power supply from the grip to your camera. Ensure your camera's power switch is also in the 'ON' position.
- Vertical Shooting: For comfortable vertical photography, utilize the dedicated vertical shutter release button on the grip. This button functions identically to your camera's main shutter button when the signal-transferring cable is connected.
- Battery Usage: The camera will draw power from the batteries in the grip. When two batteries are installed, the camera will typically use one until depleted, then switch to the second.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your battery grip:
- Cleaning: Wipe the grip with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from the grip and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Contacts: Keep the electrical contacts on both the grip and your camera clean and free of dust or debris.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following:
- Camera Not Detecting Battery / Battery Error:
- Ensure batteries are correctly inserted into the grip with proper polarity.
- Confirm the grip is securely attached to the camera and the connection screw is tightened.
- Try powering on the camera with an original EN-EL14 battery directly in the camera, then power off, attach the grip with batteries, and power on again.
- If the error occurs due to camera flex (e.g., adjusting a tripod), power off the camera, re-secure the grip, and power on again.
- Vertical Shutter Release Not Working:
- Verify that the signal-transferring cable is securely connected between the grip and the camera's remote port.
- Check your camera's menu settings to ensure the remote control function is enabled and configured correctly (e.g., set to 'photo' mode if applicable, not 'video').
