This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Clarity P-300 Amplified Photo Phone. Setup

  1. Battery Installation: The Clarity P-300 requires 4 AA batteries for certain functions (e.g., memory retention during power outages). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the phone base. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment cover securely.
  2. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the jack on the side of the phone base and the other end into the jack on the handset.
  3. Connect the Telephone Line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack labeled 'LINE' on the back or side of the phone base. Plug the other end into a standard telephone wall jack.
  4. Connect Power (if applicable): If your model includes a power adapter, plug it into the designated power input on the phone base and then into a standard electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Lift the handset, listen for a dial tone, and then dial the desired number using the large numeric keypad.
  • To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset to answer.
  • Redial: Press the REDIAL button to call the last dialed number.
  • Hold: Press the HOLD button to place a call on hold. Press again to resume.
  • Flash: Use the FLASH button for call waiting or to access other phone company services.

Photo Speed Dial Buttons

The Clarity P-300 features 9 photo speed dial buttons. You can customize these buttons with pictures of your contacts for one-touch dialing.

  1. Setting Up Photo Speed Dial:
    • Lift the handset.
    • Press the PROG button (located near the bottom controls).
    • Press one of the 9 photo buttons you wish to program.
    • Dial the telephone number you want to store for that button.
    • Press the PROG button again to save.
    • You can then insert a photo of the contact into the clear cover of the corresponding button. Generic ready-to-use icons are also provided.
  2. Using Photo Speed Dial: Lift the handset, then press the desired photo button to automatically dial the stored number.

Amplification and Volume Control

The phone offers significant amplification for improved listening clarity.

  • One-Touch Amplification: Press the blue AMPLIFY button (located below the keypad) to activate the amplification feature. An indicator light will illuminate when amplification is active.
  • Handset Volume Control: Use the HANDSET VOL slider switch to adjust the listening volume in the handset. When used with the amplification button, the sound increase can be up to 10 times greater than normal.
  • Automatic Tone Enhancement: The phone includes automatic tone enhancement to further improve speech clarity.

Ringer Controls

  • Ringer Volume: Adjust the ringer volume using the RINGER VOL switch (LO/HI).
  • Ringer Pitch: Adjust the ringer pitch using the RINGER PITCH switch (LO/HI).
  • Visual Ringer: The phone features a bright visual ringer that flashes when an incoming call is detected.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the phone, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the phone's surface.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the 4 AA batteries annually or when the phone's memory functions (if applicable) become unreliable during power outages.
  • Cord Care: Ensure that the handset and line cords are not tangled or crimped, which can lead to damage or poor connection.

Troubleshooting
