Its compact size and included carrying case make it an ideal tool for on-the-go inflation needs.

Important Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the compressor:

  • Ensure the vehicle engine is running when operating the compressor to prevent draining the vehicle's battery.
  • Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure of 120 PSI.
  • Allow the compressor to cool down after extended use, as it can become hot. Refer to the specifications for duty cycle.
  • Keep children and pets away from the compressor during operation.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area.
  • Always connect the alligator clips to the vehicle's battery terminals correctly (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  • Disconnect the compressor from the power source when not in use.

Initial Inspection

  • Unpack all components from the carrying case.
  • Inspect the compressor, air hose, and power cord for any visible damage. Do not use if damaged.
  • Familiarize yourself with the compressor's parts as described in the Product Overview section.

Connecting to Power Source

  1. Position the compressor on a stable, flat surface near the vehicle's battery.
  2. Ensure the compressor's ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
  3. Start the vehicle's engine. This is crucial to prevent draining the vehicle's battery and to ensure optimal compressor performance.
  4. Connect the red positive (+) alligator clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
  5. Connect the black negative (-) alligator clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle's battery.

Operating Instructions

Tire Inflation

  1. Ensure the compressor is properly connected to the vehicle's battery and the engine is running.
  2. Remove the valve cap from the tire you wish to inflate.
  3. Firmly attach the brass twist-on tire chuck to the tire's valve stem. Twist clockwise until secure.
  4. Flip the ON/OFF switch on the compressor to the ON position. The compressor will begin to inflate.
  5. Monitor the built-in pressure gauge. When the desired pressure is reached, immediately switch the compressor to the OFF position.
  6. Carefully disconnect the tire chuck from the valve stem. Replace the valve cap.
  7. Repeat for other tires as needed.

This image shows the clear, easy-to-read analog pressure gauge, which is essential for accurate tire inflation. Users should turn off the compressor to get an accurate reading.

Inflating Other Items (Balls, Rafts, etc.)

  1. Select the appropriate inflation tip (3/16" nozzle, 5/16" nozzle, or needle adapter).
  2. Attach the chosen tip to the brass twist-on chuck.
  3. Insert the tip into the item's inflation port.
  4. Turn the compressor ON and inflate to the recommended pressure for the item.
  5. Turn the compressor OFF and remove the tip.

Important Notes on Operation:

  • The pressure gauge provides an accurate reading only when the compressor is turned OFF. The reading will be higher when the compressor is running.
  • Observe the duty cycle: The 88P has a 25-minute duty cycle at 30 PSI. This means it can run for 25 minutes continuously at 30 PSI before needing to cool down. Exceeding this can damage the unit.
  • The compressor will get warm during use. Avoid touching hot metal parts.
