Operating Instructions

Powering On and Initial Setup

  1. Once wired, restore power to the unit. The LCD screen will illuminate.
  2. Use the MODE PREF button to cycle through initial settings such as time, date, and temperature unit (°F or °C).
  3. Use the arrow buttons (▲ / ▼) to adjust values and SET to confirm.

Operating Modes

The Altitude Wall Control features four primary operating modes:

  • SMART Mode: This fully automatic mode optimizes ventilation based on indoor and outdoor conditions, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. Press the SMART button to activate.
  • PROGRAM Mode: Allows you to set custom ventilation schedules for different times of the day and week. Press PROG to enter programming.
  • VENT Mode: Activates continuous ventilation, bringing fresh air into the home. Press VENT to select.
  • RECIRC Mode: Recirculates indoor air without bringing in outside air, useful for balancing humidity or temperature. Press RECIRC to select.

Adjusting Recirculation Settings

In RECIRC mode, you can adjust the recirculation intensity:

  • MAX: Maximum recirculation.
  • MIN: Minimum recirculation.
  • 40 min/h, 30 min/h, 20 min/h: Timed recirculation intervals per hour.
  • OFF: Turns off recirculation.

Backlight Options

The LCD screen backlight can be set to blue or green. Refer to the settings menu (accessed via MODE PREF or SET button, depending on firmware) to change the backlight color.

Maintenance

The Venmar Altitude Wall Control requires minimal maintenance. Keep the screen and buttons clean by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Filter Indicator

The control unit may display a "FILTER" indicator (visible in the top right of the LCD screen, as shown in Figure 1) to remind you to check or replace the filters in your Venmar ventilation unit. Refer to your ventilation unit's manual for filter maintenance procedures.
