Assembling the Fixture (Refer to Figure 2, FIG.2)
- Return the arms to their suitable position.
- Attach the collar (J) onto the top coupling of the lamp body (K) by turning it clockwise until tight.
- Attach the pipe screw (N) into the bottom coupling of the lamp body (K). Lock it securely with the hex nut. Attach the cover (O) to the bottom pipe screw of the lamp body, lock it securely with the fixture loop (P).
- Slide the cover (M) onto the lamp holder, slide the candle sleeve (L) over the lamp holder.
- Install the light bulbs (not included) in accordance with the fixture specifications. NOTE: DO NOT EXCEED THE SPECIFIED WATTAGE!
Hanging the Fixture (Refer to Figure 2, FIG.1)
- Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove old fixture from ceiling, including the old single bar.
- Carefully unpack new fixture and lay all the parts on a clean surface.
- Thread nipple (C) into loop (F) until snug.
- Thread other end of nipple (C) with loop attached into single bar (D) until snug.
- Place lock washer (B) over end of nipple protruding through single bar and thread hex nut (A) onto nipple until tight.
- Take this single bar assembly and mount to ceiling junction box with junction box screws (E). Tighten screws securely with screwdriver.
- Using proper chain pliers to open one end link of the chain provided and connect to the fixture loop. Close the link.
- By measuring, determine correct number of links needed for proper hanging height.
- Using proper chain pliers disconnect and discard remaining chain.
- Lace the fixture wires through the chain.
- Slip loop collar (H) over the chain, then do the same with the canopy (G).
- Open the other end link of the chain and hang the fixture on the loop at the ceiling. Close the link.
- Feed the fixture wires through the loop (F) and nipple (C) and pull until taut.
Connecting the Wires (Refer to Figure 2, FIG.3)
- Take the black wire from the ceiling junction box and the smooth wire leg from the fixture and twist bare ends together. Twist wire connector onto end of wire until snug.
- Repeat same process with white junction box wire and ribbed wire leg of fixture wire. NOTE: Twist wires together in the same direction you twist the wire connector onto wires.
- If your junction box has a grounding wire (green or bare copper), attach this wire and the bare copper wire from the fixture together as step 1. If junction box has no ground wire, attach the bare copper fixture wire to the green ground screw on the crossbar.
- Tuck these wire connections neatly into the ceiling outlet box and then raise the canopy (G) all the way to the ceiling. Raise the loop (H) and thread onto ceiling loop protruding through canopy.
Operating Instructions
Once installed, restore power at the circuit breaker. The chandelier is designed for use with standard wall switches and is dimmable. Ensure compatible dimmer switches and bulbs are used for dimming functionality.
- Turning On/Off: Use the wall switch connected to the fixture.
- Dimming: If a compatible dimmer switch is installed, adjust the dimmer to control the light intensity.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and appearance of your chandelier.
- Cleaning: Dust the fixture regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish.
- Bulb Replacement: Ensure power is off at the circuit breaker before replacing bulbs. Allow bulbs to cool completely before touching. Replace with E12 base, 60-watt maximum incandescent bulbs (or equivalent LED/CFL bulbs).
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections and mounting hardware to ensure they remain secure.
